Q: Hi Peter
We have about 20% of our RRSP portfolio in REITs with small positions in several different companies including CSH.UN, FCR, and HR.UN which you recommend.
We would like to consolidate our holdings into 6 larger positions.
Should we add to CSH.UN, FCR, and HR.UN? Which other REITs would you recommend?
Is 20% in REITs appropriate?

Q: Wilan appears to be as sell from technical analysis. Are you still recommending it as a hold?
I am currently a dollar per share under water. Is it worth holding onto or bailing out?

Q: Is there a Canadian ETF that includes US tech stocks such as Apple, Microsoft, Google, etc.? If Canadians buy US ETF's, is there not some type of hold back when we sell?

Q: Follow up question regarding the reduction in the HEX dividend. How is that to be interpreted: e.g. has the fund manager done a poor job of buying/selling options, or does this type of decline correspond to the share price declines ... or something else that usually accounts for the yield reduction.

Q: Enhanced etf's: examples, HEX, HEE and HEP. These are high yielding products at current prices at least partly due to the slump in the underlying or component commodities or stocks. Taking HEX as case in point: can the 85 cent dividend be expected to continue as the share prices of the gold producers increase.

Q: As someone approaching retirement I am looking at tilting my portfolio towards income. What metrics would you use in evaluating an income stock for a long term hold? In particular is it a red flag if the dividend is not covered by the free cash flow? Even if its well covered by earnings. This appears to be the case for Trans Canada (TRP).

Q: Happy New Year 5i! My husband and I are going to put the full $5500. into each of our TFSA accounts. We are 67 and 69 years of age and fully retired. We still would like growth and income in these accounts as we hope that we won't have to touch these accounts for some years to come. What would you recommend for us? We are so appreciative of the excellent advice that you offer.
