Hello Peter
I am looking for safety of dividends and dividend growth, with some share price growth too, and can add about 1% to an existing position.
I am considering adding to one of :

Chartwell CSH.UN - I have a 0.1% starter position..... yield 4.6%.
Emera EMA - I have a 2.0% position........ yield 4.04%.
Enbridge ENB - I have a 2.4% position............yield about 3.07 after latest increase.
Enbridge Income Fund ENF - I have a 5% position............... yield 4.48%.

Which has the least liklihood of a dividend cut, and which would you pick, and why would you choose the one you do.

Q: I note that AHF have $7.1B in AUM while Gluskin Sheff have $8.1B (only $1B more) but GS trades at ~$28 while AHF is only ~$0.88. It seems to me that some wealth management firm could pick up an easy $7B in AUM for a cheap price buy buying AHF.
(1) Why the discrepancy ?
(2)Is there a metric such as AUM per share that applies to Wealth Management companies to determine their value?

Q: Hello Peter,
I am thinking of selling half of my googl shares to buy sandvine or keep the googl, but sell half of dhx media to buy sandvine. DHX has done well for me ,but googl has been flat. I know it is not an apple to apple comparison, but am looking to switch rather than add new money to buy sandvine. Any comments? Thanks again.

Q: If your belief is that from the bottom of this oil rout some oil equities will double in 24 months time from now, what would be the global names, not just canadian names, you might suggest? Or do you think it's better to buy a global diversified ETF of medium to large cap oil producers? Thank you for your time.

Q: There has been increased trading volume and stock price over the last week. I cannot find any news to explain this, am I missing something? A compensation repayment for cancelled lease by the Alberta government is pending and has been for quite some time. I have been holding on to the stock for a few years. Would you continue to hold or sell?

Q: Just a comment on the reader's request for charity list and naming his favourite. On my board at Investor Village I have established the tradition of allowing posts on people's favourite charity including how to donate on the Sunday before Christmas (and only then)---trying to encourage the spirit of giving.

Q: Hi guys, my percentage weighting of my stocks fluctuates every day based on the previous days close of the stocks price. So if the stock is down one day it will have a 5% weighting and if is up the next day it might have a 6% or even a 7%weighting. Is that common, or is there a better way to figure out the accurate weighting of each stock. Thanks, Nick

Q: Hello Peter, Ryan and 5i staff, I have had a good year with help from 5i. I usually top up charitable donations around this time of year. Would you consider listing your favorite charities? Or perhaps even doing a blog post? I suspect after Peter's ride this summer he would have some supporting children's cancer treatment. My personal favorite charity is Sleeping Children Around the World (scaw). I like this one because 100% of the donation goes to a needy child. Publish if you wish. Thanks as always, Frank
