Q: Significant insider trading in PHM and ESL seems to have coincided with increased volatility in PHM and a plateauing of ESL. Any relationship between the insider trading and stock activity do you think?

Q: I am looking for diversification away from the Canadian market; many sectors have obvious choices whereas others do not. In Industrials, would you recommend Precision Castparts (PCP), Colfax (CFX) or another name? In healthcare, would you recommend something like JNJ even though it is enormous or have valuations in this sector been stretched? JNJ gives you some consumer staples exposure. My time horizon is 20 years. Again, I am looking for diversification away from what we have access to in Canada. Thanks for the great help!

Q: I recognize that the portfolios have shifted away somewhat from energy and energy infrastructure. My energy exposure is a little over 9%. I recently dipped my toes in and added more, specifically Shawcor (SCL). Would you consider this an energy name or an industrial? As an offsetting trade, would Canadian Utilities be appropriate? They seem to have visibility in earnings growth, are leveraged to the Alberta economy including the Structures division, and with the lower yield shouldn't get too hammered like other utilities in a rising interest rate environment. Long-term time horizon and near a 52 week low. I would appreciate your thoughts. Thanks!

Q: CBM one I have seen you mention before pulled back sharply on Friday and has since recovered somewhat by the end of the day up to $37.00. Super Micro has dropped about 35% since January. Seeking Alpha has said that this is a buy at the $30.00 range. What is your opinion on these two US stocks? Dennis

Q: Canadian Solar is trading on the US stock exchange and, to my knowledge, is not trading in Canada although a Canadian Company. I would be interested in your assessment of this Company. With the demand for solar expanding and the cost of solar panels dropping it would seem like a good long term investment. What do you think.

Q: Hi, I have one more question for you. Could you please suggest an equity that is returning over 6% in Dividends that might also have more share price upside potential than downside. I would be looking to hold for a year or more. I realize these loftier divi's could be problem for many companies so I would be satisfied with an answer of nothing at this time. Some Safety would be a concern with this holding. Thanks

Q: Hi Guys. Peter, I Hope you were able to do some cycling on the weekend . Could I please have your view of this Company? I took an exploratory super small position in it last week with some free cash. Is there anyone else in the body camera biz that might prove to be a more promising pick? I also hold AVO but I would consider it a slightly different Application/Customer focus. Thanks

Q: Hi Peter, Ryan and 5i team,

How do I make money in a bear market? If we go back to late '08 until mid '09 it was very hard not to albeit temporarily lose money. Are there ETF shorts you would recommend? Do you agree that when the yield curve inverts that its time to head to the exits, or by then will it have been too late? thanks so much for your help.

Q: Hi,

Do you ascribe any value to the tax loss carry forwards on company balance sheets? If so, how do you value such tax losses?

Q: I am having difficulty determining and rationalizing payout ratios. Different sites give different ratios. A couple days ago you answered a question on Pembina stating the dividend is safe. GlobeInvestor tells me the eps is 1.07 and the dividend per share is 1.74 giving a payout ratio of 162%. Several other prominent dividend companies also show payout ratios over 100% using the same methodology. Am I missing something or are these dividend payouts at risk?

Thanks so much!

Q: Hi 5i team,

I was wondering if this would be a good time to move into corporate bonds via ZMU (BMO mid-term US IGCorporate bonds)?

Thanks for your hard work.

Q: Hi - after reorganizing my portfolio I am left with some smallish positions in ERF,BNP and BTE. I would like to consolidate in one name and was thinking ERF or BNP since both are gas weighted (the rest of my producer holdings are oily). Which company offers the best upside and sustainable dividend. Or do you have another name that you would suggest - I don't hold any WCP and was thinking it might be better even though it's more oil weighted. Thanks

Q: Hi Team,

I just noticed a headline (http://business.financialpost.com/news/fp-street/fairfax-financial-holdings-ltd-says-insider-trading-probe-of-prem-watsa-tied-to-fibrek-inc) about possible insider trading at FFH. It seems this is not "new" news. Do you have any comments on the implications for holding stock in this company?

Many thanks.

Michael
