Q: Hello Peter,
Just wondered if you have had a look at Mart Resources (MMT TSX-V) lately. Div of almost 14% & descent drill results. Not in the most stable part of the world, but the Co. looks promising. Buy, hold or sell ?
Thanks in anticipation.

Q: Peter and team. Thanks for your excellent work. Curious of your opinion on Ram Power (RPG). Any value down here at $0.20. Looks like they might need to raise more capital or do a deal with someone like Sprott Resource Lending but long term electrical power contracts have to be worth something. Is it worth a flyer here in your opinion? Thanks.

Q: I'd appreciate your thoughts on Western Wind Energy's (WND) announcement that they will be selling the company.
I was going to buy back into the company when it was trading in the low to mid $1.20's but with a busy job and a busy summer I forgot.
Now I see it shoot up and I am regretting my lack of attention. However I'm loath to chase it.
The previous offer was around $2.5 and WND wants that as the low end and WND's assessed value as the higher end.

Does a company have any bargaining power after they refuse an offer, the stock drops lower, and then they decide to sell?? I look forward to your comments.

Thank you for your recent blog - Don't Count Your Takeover Chickens too Early.

Q: Peter,
Am setting my 14 year old son up with an account so he can start learning and saving early. Room for only 2-3 stocks and he has to be able to understand the business. Thinking of a bank (TD or National), Brookfield Renewable, and a tech stock. Any recommendations on the tech side?
Petra

Q: Thanks for detailed analysis on Badger Daylighting. A few questions about the company:

(1) You mentioned that the high growth of the industry has attracted numerous competitors. Is the Badger Hydrovac design a proprietary technology that Badger owns exclusively? Other than reputation and engineering expertise, does Badger have other advantages over competitors?

(2) Many companies are now forecasting slower future growth and toning down their previous ambitious expansion plan. How do you see this trend affecting the future growth of Badger? Would you still recommend Badger at the existing stock price (approx $26)?

(3) In your report you say Badger's payout ratio is below 25%. What's considered high and low for this type of company?

Thanks!

Q: Hi Peter, Further to MCAN (MKP), I hold some in my RIF (1% of total portfolio). Would appreciate your view of the company prior to my subscribing for units through the rights offering, plus buying additional units. Note that some insiders hold a very substantial position.

Q: Hi Peter,
Do you know why Canfor pulp CFP is trading so much better than its dividend paying CFX? This has fallen alot. Is there a fear of a dividend cut or is CFX perhaps a good buy at these levels? Thanks so much Janis
