Q: On the previous question regarding reset prefs, the 5 year BOC, from their website is 1.5% yet the reset used was .79%. I am confused. Is .79% the YTM? and should that be used to calculate the "new" yield till the next reset? Thank You

Q: I have been following Canadian Tire. Would you recommend the voting or non-voting shares (CTC or CTC.A) for a purchase?
I also want to thank you for the spectacular returns (191% to 495%) in my portfolio, due to purchases in Constellation Software, Enghouse and Boyd Group.

Q: We have a portfolio of 26 holdings in a BMO Invest account, all dividend stocks as we depend on the dividends for about 50% of our annual income. BMO regularly provides opinions on our investments as given by various analysts. One of these is Ford Research and I would like to have your opinion of this firm. Frankly they seem to advise 'Hold' on almost all of our stocks but, today, advised 'Sell' on BIP.UN, HSE, IPL, and VET. Since BIP.UN is up 50% since I bought it, and pays a good dividend, and the other sells have also done well for us, how much confidence should I place in Ford's opinions?
Q: I have been following both Westjet and Air Canada. I have done very well with AC yet, WJA's share price has not kept up to the last earnings report. Could you comment?
Thank you for the invaluable service.

Q: I currently own GEI and KEY.What are your thoughts on replacing GEI with ALA? ALA seems to offer more protection from the effects of low oil prices. Thanks, Joe
Q: Hi Peter,
What happened to all the O/G questions ? :)
Of the 3 listed where would you add at this time ? TOU has held up well. Dividend for WCP certainly looks healthier than SGY. Thank you.

Q: I see bnk just came out with reserve numbers etc. I have to admit a little above my head. I note from a Dec letter that you know mgm and think highly of them. Td also has a buy on them. I own about a 10% position in oil/gas. MEG, SGY & TOG. I figure with a 4% drop today that the mkt didn't like what they had to say..What do you think of bnk at this time, should I buy, or might you suggest something else. Thanks very much.
Q: Good day...thanks for the great service..my question is concerning my outside account... 1) A small-cap, U.S. based stock
2) Pays at least at 3% dividend

Q: I would like to add one position in my RRSP and would like you to rank in order of preference Cineplex, Home Capital Group, A and W Royal Income Fund. I have read your reports and I know you like them all but would appreciate your input in making this decision. It's for a 10 year hold. 5i is AWESOME! Thanks
Q: several weeks ago there was report I think it was talked about on bnn that ranked Brokerage banks services. Would you know how I could get the link to the report.
Q: I am thinking of building a small portfolio using only the (A) rated stocks from your monthly summary list. Wondering if that would provide enough diversification to get a decent return over the long term?
Q: i like the current technical on pembina, but would loike your comparison to ipl , enb, key, in terms of quality, risk, dividend sustainability and potentila for growth

Q: When you give a report on a company you give it a rating A, B- etc.
Do you have this rating available on all the other stocks that you have not profiled

Q: I own a half position in Intact (IFC) and its had a good move upward since early November 2014. Do you think it is now fully/over valued and does it have more upside in 2015? I don't have any other P&C insurance companies. Are there others that have more upside going forward?
Thanks, Tim.
Thanks, Tim.
Q: Why this is down so much and I don't see any news at all. Any idea? Thanks.
Q: A non binding offer of $.80 has been made by Midwestern, an affiliate of Mart, for the oil & gas company Mart.Is this a good deal for shareholders or can other offers be expected? It appears there is very little confidence in this price since the stock rose to $.72 today then fell back to the low sixties.Your comments ,as slways, would be appreciated.
Q: i am 77 years old and have a lower 7 digit portfolio.
my occasional advisor wants me to change most of my investments ,particularly the RIFF to CI Guaranteed Retirement Cash Flow Series G5/20 or alike.I think that is too conservative and the commission is in the 3 % plus.
Your opinion please. Walter

Q: Hi There
Fairfax has just announced the reset rate on the above at 2.91%.
My reading of the prospectus was that the reset rate was to be equal to 2.66% plus 5yr GOC rate(~0.79%) = 3.45%.
what am I missing here.
Thanks
David
