Q: Regarding Open Text. What does filing shelf registration in connection with GXS transaction mean in simple language? What does this mean for the company and the shareholders? Best, Don
Q: Could I have your analysis and take on PTK.T, POET Technologies Inc: Developing planar opto electronic technology (POET), a gallium arsenide semiconductor fabrication process for commercial and military applications.
The stock has been on a wild ride of late with what looks to be a disruptive technology in favor of POET. Thanks!

Q: Hi,
I'm looking at adding a large technology Company to my RRSP. I currently own Enghouse and I'm looking at adding either Open Text (OTC) or Constellation Software (CSU)? Any preference?
Also, Open Text is making an announcement tomorrow with the premier of Ontario. I assume its something related to additional investments in Ontario. What are your thoughts?
Thanks again,
Jason

Q: Good Morning Team...Would you average up on Sandvine at this point,$3.77 off daily high of $ 3.92?
Q: Hello Peter and team
In your new Growth Portfolio, your weighting appears to me to be 25% Technology, only 5% Energy and 15% Basic Materials. I am weighted 11.5% Technology with CSU,ESL, MDA, and SYZ. 16% energy with VET, PEY,and BDI. VET and BAD are over just over 8% because of gains and split. My Basic Materials weight is 9% with G and RUS. Should I be reducing Energy to increase Basic Materials and Technology? My other weightings seem in line.
Would appreciate your comments. Regards Kathy

Q: SUM
Feb 14 5i suggested if it could get back to $6.75, it would be a buy.
April 2 (@ $6.72) 5i suggested wait until 2nd week April.
Today, had a slight uptick after being fairly level since beginning of the month. Should I still wait to jump in for another week or so?
thanks for all you do

Q: SW... Sierra Wireless
For 5i & Family... with a question at the end...
SW has had very good "recent" financial Performance and 2014 Q1 will be reported May 1. Cisco believes the M2M market will be worth (get this) $19 Trillion by 2020. SW has made some very good acquisitions as of late and last reported EBITDA grew 48% to $18+ mm.
They have developed a number of new (and unique) products including AirVantage which is a cloud service enabling OEM's to run their applications directly on the module reducing overall time and cost significantly. And they have released the world's first 4G embedded module designed specifically for the automotive industry. In addition, they have recently introduced ES440 designed specifically for Branch Office Continuity.
Balance sheet looks strong with lots of cash, $18 mm in operating cash flow and stock is reported as relatively cheap at a trailing P/E of less than 12 despite a stock increase of 90% in the past year.
As I reported earlier this year, I went by and visited the Head Office and saw a very busy environment with people running all over the place, and lots of suppliers/customers in the lobby. SW has significant Blue Chip customers and has landed many new customer design wins.
I am wondering why I shouldn't be investing a 5% position is SW? Is this all too good to be true? Am I dreaming if I think I am looking at a $100 stock in 2 years or less?
Really look forward to hearing your thoughts
Thanks Peter & Company

Q: ANY In the past you seem to have viewed this company in a positive light - albeit with qualifications regarding not knowing management well and this being a high risk investment. Given the scathing article in Seeking Alpha this week and the subsequent volatility how does this affect your opinion?
Do you know if the author is a credible source? Would you buy this stock? Or sell it if you owned it?
Thanks for your help.
Happy Easter.

Q: MNW Since your last comment regarding Mitel, they have posted results that apparently have disappointed the market. With the stock falling below $10, has this become a wait-and-show-me story, or is this possibly an attractive entry point, for someone with patience.
Thank you as always...

Q: STX, Seagate on nasdaaq. I am nicely over 60% on this one. Should I sell and move on or hold for long term. I bought at $32. with 5% div. Thanks. Helen
Q: SYZ - significant insider selling by CEO and others just before and after recent secondary issue. Cause for concern?
Q: Just some general comments on AYA that some members might find useful from one who has been investing for 25+ years:
1) If you have followed the model portfolio, AYA should represent a max of 5% of your holdings
2) Not every stock in the portfolio is going to go straight up from the outset
3) It is very difficult to anticipate and "play" market sentiment swings, which is clearly affecting AYA presently. Stay focused on what the company is actually doing.
4) Don't check your stocks every hour. Better to evealuate monthly or quarterly, along with company information released.
5) We are all here because we believe in Mr Hodson's insight. Follow his portfolio, stay with his suggestions, and I believe you will have an excellent chance to outperform the market. That is all anyone could realistically ask for.
Good luck fellow investors!
