Q: Is there a way of telling just when that huge reversal of SYZ's fall happened? At one point very close to end of day it was showing down over 8%. Then suddenly it rocketed up to finish the day even. The weird thing is I was looking at it on my TD screen. I wasn't going to sell that low but it suddenly showed SYZ as being back up to 10.95. I sold some at that point, for this stock has gotten way too volatile for me, but when I checked it turned out I sold at the low of the day somehow.

Q: I note on Sept 24 the CEO moved 147k shares ($2.6M worth) to different accounts - including $540k worth to his RRSP. Is it safe to assume this was purely for tax reasons, and can we infer he thought the stock was finding a bottom at $18?
It's amazing that the company easily raised $100M at $29 just 6 months ago. At 1/2 that price it appears a compelling buy.

Q: CIBC report-there are some very good & welcomed positives beyond the reduction of the TP fr $40 to $25.Rating is SECTOR OUTPERFORM.Sales force growth ends as focus turns to bottom line is the headline.It is on track to meet revenue target & any shortfall can be made up by a accretive acquisition(s)with the $150m cash in hand($3 per share).The material drop over the past week is primarily due to investors lowering earnings expectations as well as the negative headline news. As I write,it is trading @ $14(up 0.45.3.2%)

Q: Saw an advertisement for this company on the last page of the Financial Post, today. It is bidding on contracts to supply body cameras for police - a timely device considering the problems in the US lately. It is very small mkt cap at the moment. What are your thoughts on GSI (venture exchange), and who are its competitors? Thanks, as always

What do you think of xlk as a broad brush play on the technology sector? Is there a Canadian equivalent? (either Canadian companies or American companies in can. funds). Could you briefly touch on how etf's are handled vs. pure stocks @ tax time?

Q: AVO recently released a series of information on its products.But the stock continues to drop sharply,some 5% today.Pat Horan recommended it as one of his top picks on Sep 29 on Market Call Tonight.Its CEO has to realize that growth & product enhancement have to be accompanied by corresponding growth in profit.Todate I have lost $9 since purchase prior to release of last Q results.Your advice on whether I should sell now Thanks a lot

Q: Hi Peter and company. Could you take a look at the numbers released for this company. I listened in on the conference call and it seems like the balance sheet is improving and will continue to do so. My issue is the revenue and block trades of selling lately. Have you herd of downgrades or institutional selling. If possible I would like to know if you will be updating your model portfolio soon in light of the sell off...new companies to purchase with this pullback etc.

Q: On April 15 I asked you about significant insider selling. More took place (at $11) on the 24th just past. Is the selling timed to avoid any drop on the announcement of closing a financing and/or issue of new shares? Should we worry that the CEO's shareholding has dropped in stages from 2.4million back in February to 370thousand now?

Q: Hey Team

Have been patient with Sprylogics and have been waiting for it to make a move upward considering it is developing software integral to chat rooms making money. And people love chat rooms.

Has done very little since April when it was around $0.40. Now since the beginning of the week it is up 40%. Is there a reason you know of for this pleasant jump? And what do you see for SPY moving forward?

Q: Hi Peter,

AVO took a beating when the CFO suddenly left immediately before earnings were released in May for "health reasons". It is now four months later and the company has yet to announce the hiring of a permanent replacement. Smells a bit fishy to me. Is this long delay a further cause for concern for AVO shareholders? How long should it take to hire a qualified and suitable CFO???
