Q: Since closing over $33. in Feb, BPY has dropped to under $28. Is there a fundamental or performance problem, 1st Quarter results released Apr 30, or is it just money moving back into Energy and leaving companies like BPY.UN

Q: What are your thoughts on TPH and MRC. MRC has taken a 10% position for "investment purposes". Take over ahead, worth taking a position in TPH, good yield in the mean time? Would this be a good opportunistic transaction for MRC?

Q: REITs have dropped significantly in the past few days even though rate rises do not appear imminent. Is this because the ten year US treasuries are now 2.20% and possibly rising as investors sell to transition into equities? The drop doesn't make sense otherwise and REIT yields are very attractive.

I have 2000 shares of this company that I have held for several years. On may RBC account I am showing a 15% gain on these entirely because the distributions have been return of capital (ROC). I thought I read somewhere last year that REITS will become Mandatory for all Canadian Money manager / Mutual funds to hold within their portfolios.
If so, when is this required and should this not have a positive impact on the Reit sector ?
Also, if true what Reits do you think will benefit ?

Q: Haven't seen any questions regarding Northern Properties in a while, what's you opinion of it now, given the slow down in Western Canada?
Q: Could I have your opinion on investing in FNM.UN as opposed to buying a REIT ETF or a few, individual REITs. The fund has a good yield, has been around for just over 2 years and is presently at a 6% discount to NAV. How would it compare to something like CAR.UN or Boardwalk?

Q: I bought 2,550 shares of TN.UN last June in my RRSP for high yield income, representing only 3.2% of my portfolio. As expected, its price has been relatively flat but the 8%+ dividend has been maintained. Can you recommend other relatively high yield Canadian apartment REITs that would be safer investments.
