Q: Peter and Team,

I currently have the following energy producers in the portfolio:
AEI 3.5%
PPY 3.9%
TOU 3.5%
PEY 4.3%
CPG 3.1%

With a total energy producer weighting of 18.3% I am wondering if I should trade my CPG shares for something like Black Diamond group. The dividend is lower on Black Diamond but I think the quality of company is better and I think they treat shareholders better. What are your thoughts on a best choice for recovery from current prices and good dividends? As a side note, I hold BAD (4.9%) as well in case it matters in terms of sector exposure.

Thanks,

Marc

Q: I was hoping to have your view on some of the smaller names in the energy space. SPE-Spartan, ELK-Elkwater, POE-Pan Orient.. I have read your previous comments on ELK. You are supportive of management however it seems the recent deals are not investor friendly. I noticed that the past announced deal has driven significant decrease in per share value. Could I have your thoughts please for these going forward. Thank you Jason

Q: Can I have your opinion on two high risk stocks (WZR, LYD) that are down quite a bit over the last couple of years. I planned on holding onto them long term, however, lately I am wondering if I should cut my losses and get rid of them. Thanks.

Q: Hi Peter & Co.,
I read an article in the G&M this morning extolling the merits of Prairie Sky for income investors. No mention of other companies, specifically FRU was made in the article. So I'm wondering, with FRU's dividend yield approximately double that of PSK's, would I necessarily be taking on significantly more risk in taking a position in FRU? Can you please comment on the pros & cons of investing in one versus the other?
Many thanks,
Brian

Q: Royal Dutch Shell (RDS.A) was highly recommended on BNN last night. What is the difference between RDS.A and RDS.B? Is this a safe long term bet and which one, if any, would you buy?
Thanks.

Q: would you say TOU is a good purchase for a TFSA right now, given the fundamentals are good and the sector is beaten up.
Assuming your answer is yes, would it make more sense to wait as the sector may not have hit it's bottom yet?
Thanks for everything, as always!

Q: Just heard that there has been an oil pipeline explosion in Saudi Arabia. Could be the cause of the rise in oil today.

Q: Regarding Lyondell for the member asking (I hold it as well) - Lyondell uses a great deal of energy in it's business and retooled to use cheaper natural gas. That action boosted it's margins and gave it an advantage over other chemical companies. Now that oil is cheaper, that advantage is gone. For now.
Can I ask - Canadian oil was receiving much less than the WTI price a year or so ago. That seemed to improve more recently. What price are the Canadian companies receiving now? Is the much different than the oil price they received when transportation was an issue? (I guess I am asking - is this downturn really, relatively, so bad?
Thanks

Q: I have held Diamondback for a while and am now down fairly significantly. Would you continue to hold, or do you think it is time to get out. What is your view of the company in comparison to other energy companies, and on the energy sector as a whole currently
THanks

Q: In the grand scheme of things, which is more important, WTI or Brent. I have been watching energy to see if there is a bottom in sight and there are tenuous signs that maybe there is for Brent but not yet for WTI.
