Q: Hi there,

I wanted to comment on one of your member's comments on his losses on individual 5i stocks. I too have been a member for a very long time and the one thing I have learned is to stick with a disciplined portfolio approach rather than just trying to pick stocks from your portfolios. This has led me to consistently better overall results over a number of years. Some stocks have gone done at times and recovered at other times. But it is the 'stick with it' portfolio approach which has led to better than market returns. Thanks for all that you do.

Q: Can you explain to the less educated why SPB should be selling off when they declare to pay out the debentures at 7.5% in this low interest environment, I would have thought that was good thing, but obviously the market does not agree me, I guess this is an opportunity to add to my position.

Q: Hi 5i Team,

I am slowly moving to copy the model balanced portfolio. The names I do not yet own are AYA, CGX, DSG, G, SIS, SYZ and WCP.
In what order would you suggest I purchase these names I do not already own?

Thanks

Q: While Savaria does not have a rating yet, would you expect it to start with a similar rating to Prism, given its size and liquidity issues? Or would it fair a bit better with slightly higher liquidity and a good level of insider ownership?

Thanks!

Q: Hi Peter and Team,

The last question about CVD was on Feb. 19th, and I see that it's still in the 5i income portfolio. I'm in the process of reviewing my RRIF and note that when taking dividends into consideration, I'm still down almost 4%. Going forward, is this ETF worth hanging on to? My RRIF is well balanced with various 5i picks from all of your model portfolios. Income is fine and dandy, but I'm a bit frustrated with the negative growth characteristics of CVD, but of course am willing to wait if you're still OK with this ETF.

Thanks as always for your valued advice.

Q: Hello Peter & Team,

Bought it @$14. Sold 25% of my position at $19.11 last May.

Saw your last comment end of Oct re the speculative shorting taking place. I do plan on holding for the long term but, would like your opinion on what effect the Fed raising rates (appears to be inevitable... again) may have on the price.

Thanks for all you do

Gord

Q: It looks as though the purchase price is in USD. If the USD appreciates with an increase in U.S. Interest rates, could this increase in CAD the amount shareholders receive for Com Dev?

Thanks

Q: Hi Team - I have been offline for a while and tried to look through recent answers to avoid posting. What would be your top 10-12 stocks for a diversified portfolio with a 15 year time horizon that are buyable now. I am comfortable with all types of stocks although I generally keep riskier ones to 2-3%. Thanks for the excellent service!

Q: I have been holding this since 4$ a share. I am now feeling like there is an opportunity cost of holding this any longer.

"With our third quarter and year-to-date operating and financial results as the back-drop, we are looking forward to a strong finish to 2015 and towards ensuring AutoCanada being well prepared to face continued challenges in Alberta in fiscal 2016," stated Thomas Orysiuk, President & Chief Executive Officer. "In order to provide us with flexibility to execute on our continuing acquisition strategy and to fund our capital expenditure requirements, while maintaining appropriate operating liquidity, we are in advanced stages of negotiations towards expanding our revolving credit facility. As part of this process, we have amended our banking covenants to align with current industry lending practices. Together with our free cash flow from operations, the expanded revolving credit facility will provide us with the necessary flexibility to meet our capital requirements."

I did not like this and the 10% drop today is saying something although the volume isn't massive. I'm interpreting it as 'sell now and buy it back in 12 months' What do you guys suggest here?

On another note, this cold temperature is getting me and my wife exited about our upcoming CMS/5i cruise!

Thanks and have a great weekend.

Q: I am great fan for both Norm Rothery and Ross Grant whose mentor David Stanley in CMS is my all time favourite writer. They love Dividend paying stocks. How come their selection is not identical? (Recent article in Moneysense and Ross' in CMS) Of course your own Model Income portfolio is very different as well.
Is it due to methodological differences? Would your recommendation to choose one of these portfolios be guided by investor's age, risk tolerance or other factors?
If I am going to pick and choose from all these portfolios what criteria should I employ?
(I know there is some overlap and common denominators in these portfolios)
It will be nice to see an article in CMS comparing VDY/ZDV with say BTSX or Norm's All Star candidates.
Thanks for your great service.
