I've had a friend (new investor) ask me to suggest a few books to help him learn about investing and the markets. I've seen similar questions asked on here before, but can't seem to find them. Can you repost a previous answer?

Q: Hello team,
You recently recommended PRW,PLI and QST; to add technology stocks to the list, what are your thoughts on WAN, ESP or EXO-U? Do you like those names for a 2 to 3 year time frame?
Also, quickly on US bank Stocks knowing that you do not cover them, I have smalls positions on Keycorp (KEY) and FITB and was thinking of consolidating them into one with better growth potential, which one would you suggest I keep?
Q: West Face capital has exited their position in MFI Maple Leaf Foods. How can one know who bought their shares, i.e. was it the McCain Family, or a mutual fund. Though the press was saying the shares tanked, they are not off by much. Wondering what's next with MFI.

Q: Is there something going on in the market I haven't caught? Friday's 200 point drop on seemingly no news was strange enough. Now we have another triple digit, across the board loss and the only explanation is perhaps speculation about a report due on Chinese growth. Yet I'm seeing some of my lower beta, stable, conservative stocks plunging even more than the high beta momentum stocks. Easyhome down almost 6%, IPL down almost 5%, even Saputo down over 3%, none of which would seem to have anything to do with China. I'm not seeing people moving into anything else (certainly not energy, tech or materials) so what's the money doing?
