Q: I always seem to buy more of a company just before they do a financing and then the stock goes down to the financing price or below usually a few bucks or more. My question: do you foresee a financing for aya, dhx, acq, bdi or bad in the near term to shore up their balance sheet? Which of these companies would require more money in order to grow or are they all well financed and can grow organically?

Q: My energy stocks are the following: BNP,CNQ,PRW and TOG. I need to get out of all or three of them. Which do you recommend to keep or should I sell all and buy Tourmaline that seems to be a better managed company. It seems to me that the oil stocks are not going to do better in a long time.
I also would like to know if it is right time to buyAmaya gaming, Home Capital Group. Or is it too late.

Q: Good evening!
If I were to sell RSI (one of my income stocks)RSI for tax reasons (My ACB 11% higher) would you have any suggestions for a "parking" stock that would trade in sync? I am happy to buy Rogers back in the new year (as in day 1!) as I do, in fact, expect better future earnings based on upcoming sugar shortages and lower fuel costs.
Thanks!

Q: Hello Peter & Co,
This is a follow up to my first letter on sectoral split and content of my RRIF portfolio
Energy; 10% BTE, CPG, HWO, TOU, VET and WCP; thinking of switching from CPG to POU? any other suggestion?
Health; 11% you consider too high and RX too risky; I'll reduce to half position, same as GUD
Metals 0%; you have FM in your portfolio, how about XBM?
Consumer staples 0%; you have L in your income portfolio, I thought DOL could be considered both retail & consumer staples.
Thanks, as usual
Tony

Q: Do you think SNC is good value here? Or should one wait for the oil price to settle. If not a buy today, then what would you like to see happen to make it a buy?

Q: What a pop from $6 to $9+.

Are you "scared" enough by this company that you would be comfortable short selling it after such a big move up?

Q: Hello Peter and crew,
Any comments on the numbers and forecast from Corby yesterday? For a stock that typically has little volatility, the price has really shot up in the past week or so. Do you think this is a good time to get into the stock or do you think the price may come down to prior levels over the next few weeks?
Thanks in advance,
Rory

I am thinking of selling NIF.UN and replacing with FRU (for more growth and a good dividend). Your thoughts would be appreciated. Many thanks.

Q: Can I have your opinion on two high risk stocks (WZR, LYD) that are down quite a bit over the last couple of years. I planned on holding onto them long term, however, lately I am wondering if I should cut my losses and get rid of them. Thanks.

Q: I currently have a full position in ZRE and half positions in FSV and HCG at 44.65 and 38.75 respectively. In order to reduce interest rate sensitivity I am considering selling ZRE and using the proceeds bring FSV and HCG up to full positions. Other financial holdings are TD, SLF, and BNS. The dividend income from ZRE is not required and is currently being re-invested. Sector allocations are: Financials 15%, Utilities 10%, Consumer Discretionary 10%, Consumer Staples 9%, Industrials 15%, Health Care 7%, Telecom 9%, Info Tech 12%, Energy 9%, Materials 4%. Any feedback on this idea would be appreciated.
