Q: I took a position in Equity Financial a while back and was up about 12% before the departure of an executive. I invested in EQI partly because I had missed the boat on HCG at about the $55 dollar mark after the shorting noise. Now I'm about at break even on EQI and wondering what to do. I liked the growth potential of EQI and the fact that you liked management, and I liked the bargain price of HCG at $55. Should I sell EQI and look at Counsel CXS, perhaps, or maybe Wi-Lan is turning the corner? You will probably say I should go with HGC, but it is hard for me to pay $77 for a stock I could have had at $53.(Maybe I should just get over that missed opportunity.) I am mainly after growth at a bargain (don't need a dividend) in any sector. Maybe RKN Redknee? I currently have a pretty good replica of the model portfolio. Again, thank you, thank you, thank you, for a service that is so good that I can't believe it exists. So glad to say good-bye to my broker.

Q: Hi Everyone, hope you're having a great day! My question today is $20,000 to put to work. AYA or HCG. Aya,flying. Hcg doing well also. Love them both. Who has the edge in your opinion for the next six months. Thanks
Q: Question: How many years of significant growth do you think Home Capital Group (HCG) have ahead of them? I see the growth is there as we move from 2013 into 2014 and even with HCG's recent move its valuation is still attractive with a p/e in the low 9s using 2014 earnings estimate. However, do you still expect ok growth beyond 2014 or do you see HCG turning more into a MIC (Genworth) with an attractive valuation, a steady dividend but also low earnings growth?
Thanks, as always.

Q: Back to AHF as I am thinking of purchasing on your recommendation.
But I am a bit confused as morningstar has a quantitative fair value of 1.09.
Also could AHF be a good candidate for a take over and what is the payout ratio for the dividend?

Q: what is the reason that ahf is doing so poorly?
Q: Looking at SLF for a long term income/growth hold. The growth is secondary to reliable income and market stability, but their Chinese and other Asian holdings imply that there may be some growth as well. Your thoughts, please.
Q: Hi Peter, I am just wondering if you had any more insight into EQI, given the two changes in senior management, especially Mr. Mr. Kyprianou's exit.
Would you still rate it as high? The explanation that it was a 'board' decision doesn't sit well with me. Are you comfortable with the team in place today?
Thanks, as always.

Q: Hello:
I would like your opinion on Home Capital I like equities which pay a decent dividend and have some growth potential. One of the guests on BNN has invested in this stock from the beginning and still considers it a long term holding. What are your views on HCG-T?

Q: JPM is currently my only direct US investment held within my RRSP, I am currently sitting at about a 25% gain. What is your outlook for this stock considering their ongoing and seemingly never ending legal issues? Has all this turmoil been priced in already or should I consider moving on. Can you recommend something within the Canadian Financial Sector as an alternative?
Thank you for your fantastic service. (since I have become a 5i subscriber I have had my best returns as an investor!)

Q: Most TSX stocks rose on the back of the political news today, but I noticed that Counsel was one of the minority that had a price drop. Anything in particular going on?

Q: Hi 5i,
I've heard that U.S. regional banks (NOT the big boys who gave us 2008) have good potential for growth vis a vis other North American financials. 1. Do you agree? 2. If yes, do you have any individual names that come to mind? 3. Are there any ETFs that are heavily weighted toward U.S. regional banks?
Thank you for your comments and hope the trip is going well.

Q: ACD accord financial, roe of 14, good dividend growth, reasonable p/b of 1.4 seems like a great value stock. Your thoughts? Thanks
Q: Hello Team,
We would like to ask a question about capital losses. In order to off set gains this year we need to sell a portion of our holdings. The options are either H&R REIT or Intact financial. In your opinion which holding will likely do better in 2014? We could perhaps sell a portion of each. What is your opinion please?
Have a great time in Europe. thanks

Q: Equity Financial EQI is dropping on news of a management change. When I look at the bio of the incoming person I think the stock should be rising, not dropping. It appears that investors had more confidence in the outgoing person? Any thoughts?

Q: GS Gluskin and Scheff.
Does this week's developments (owners selling their shares) alter your opinion of GS as a worthy candidate for one's portfolio? If no, what would you replace it with? If yes, would you back up a small truck and buy more shares?
Thank you for your help; and I hope this finds you enjoying your time in Europe and picking up some new and useful ideas.
