Q: Hello 5I,
What is your view on Horizon North (HNL)? They have recently made 2 announcements. There is obviously bad feelings over events of the last month but as a longer term hold and a play on oil sands & LNG are they a good company too own?

Cheers,
Bob Ahearn

Hello Peter
The Northwest Company NWC has been dropping but I am still up 13.4% and I am wondering if it would be prudent to just sell and take my profits.
Sadly my Liquor Stores LIQ is down 28% from my purchase price. Should I just cut my losses here and move on?
I am down $23K on LIQ and up $6K on NWC so the gain is more than offset by the loss.
I do think consumer stocks will continue to fare badly and other market sectors seem to me to have much more promise.
I am inclined to buy some of PZA, T, MIC, RUS, AFN, WCP with the proceeds if I sell either or both.
Regards and thanks....... Paul

Q: Just a comment, but whenever a company announces bad news like mccoy did yesterday and horizon north logistics did 3 weeks ago, for me this is a huge warning sign, i immediately sell and never return, your first loss is your best loss. There are so many great opportunities , why wait months until maybe these companies recover and that is a big maybe. I owned both mccoy and horizon and i am now long gone. I am averaging 16 per cent annual average return forthe last 10.5 years so i feel i know what i am talking about.have to disagree with you to hold mccoy, that was one awful announcement. Dave

Q: Hello,
I see MCB is down a lot this morning on warnings of Q4 results being substantially lower. Should I sell or is this OK for a longer term hold? Thank you.

Q: Greetings to Peter and his team. You guys are great. I am thinking about selling my Magna International shares that I I acquired very recently and buy TRW instead. My reason is that I just saw analyst's 12 month target estimates for TRW are much better for TRW than Magna. I have tried to ask questions about TRW on BNN several times but none of the portfolio managers seem to follow it.

Q: McCoy (MCB) seems to be taking a beating lately. Although it is up and you have commented that these small caps are often sold first, it appears that it has been hit harder than most. Good time to buy?

Thanks. Paul F.

Q: Good afternoon. I currently hold Easyhome(EH). Its' shareprice has been in a steady decline since the new year. Has anything changed for this company. I am thinking of switching to Leons (LNF) or Dollarama (DOL). I am looking for capital appreciation rather than dividends and I have a medium to high risk tolerance. Can I get your comments please.
Thanks, Tim.

Q: What do you think of WIN's decision to not increase the dividend, despite the widening profit margins expected with low litigation costs? The buyback program was halted as well since November 6. The quarterly dividend requires $4.8 million of cash and the buyback was approx. $2.4mm quarterly. if they allocated the buyback capital to the divvy, this could have a 27 cent annual dividend, yielding somewhere near 8% at current levels. If they don't sell this thing, it seems like they could create value by making this a much better yielding royalty type security, while using the cash balance as a buffer for periods of unusual litigation activity. thanks.
