Q: It appears that copper price is starting an uptrend. What individual stocks or ETFs would you recommend for taking best advantage? Is a precious metal ETF with more than just copper a good idea?

Diversification, both by stocks and metals, is never a 'bad' idea, but by design this will reduce both risk and opportunity. We would be OK owning XBM if one wanted general base metals exposure. One could also own a couple of copper stocks directly if one only wanted copper exposure. We would be comfortable with this as well, so it depends on an investor's goals. For copper we would suggest: CS, LUN, TECK.B
