Q: Hi There - I held CPL-N for several years and sold at what turned out to be the peak ($33). I like the long term theme for Brazil and wonder if you have any thoughts on CPL at the current price for part of the energy sector of a portfolio. My emphasis is on income with some inflation protection.

Q: Peter, Love the site and will definitely renew. Recently retired and have been moving to income over the past year. I feel I'm underweight financials (CM, BMO, TMC and ANGC total 17%) and am considering CIM-N (Chimera). What do you think, or do you have a better idea.

Q: i originally owned hud bay [HBM}at a cost of $18 and then averaged down to $14. There has been slow progress lately. What information, do I need to consider in making a decision to continue holding or sell at a loss and allocate the dollars to another sector. Q: Hi Peter. I hold both ECI and BTB.un and both for income but hopeful for growth...
ECI recently closed $250 mil at 4.3% and this makes sense to me but the share price has weaken.
BTB.un has issues $20 mill of units which will offer a current rate of 9% . This seems like expensive financing. Am I missing something?
I feel like I should exit BTB.un and buy more ECI or like companies.

Hi Peter.
I was hoping you could comment on Redknee. They are going to acquire some assests from Nokia/Seimens and I read that they are getting them on the cheap.

Q: I would appreciate some clarification about amount of gold exposure. In your answer to a previous question about gold you suggested always having some gold as a sort of insurance and I would like to follow that advice. Your suggested amount for now (22/Nov/12) was 10% or 15%. Would that be a percent of total portfolio (i.e including fixed income) or only of the equity/growth portion?
If one already owns a senior gold company would it be more prudent to add some gold bullion using a mutual fund or ETF, or would you still suggest sticking with more gold stocks?

thanks once again for an outstanding site. Like many of your followers, I am very happy thus far with your advice, and wish I'd taken it sooner and bought more of them. Now, my question. I have a little exposure, in my portfolio, to TRP and PPL. I would like to add a little more to this sector. Diversification is not paramount (I was thinking ENB), so what is your favourite pipeline pick? I couldn't really tell by researching the site and looking at previously asked questions.
