Q: I noticed high target prices on this pipeline company even though they have a negative tangible book value, huge debt and significant insider selling. Can you give me your opinion of the approximate value of this stock?
Q: I am thinking of taking a position in surge, but as of late it has not participate in the rally as much.
Are there reasons for this?
Are there underlying issues that I should be aware off.
And what is there hedging program look like, are they able to keep paying the dividend?
Q: What do you think of the Management team at Leucadia. I know that lately their Assets haven't been performing well at all. Is this just temporary or was it the result of poor leadership, and last would this be a good entry point for a long term hold.
Thanks Gordon
Q: A follow up question on ESL. In previous answer on ESL you suggested that a 4 to 5% position in ESL should be the max weighting. Is this because of the potential risk with the stock, or are you expecting ESL to slow in growth? Some extra clarity please.
Q: I have some PLI and PHM in my portfolio. A very small percentage. I am considering adding to one of the names. Which one would you consider a better name?
Q: ShawCor has provided an update today on the South Stream Offshore Pipeline Project. I would appreciate your assessment of this news on the company and whether I should consider selling the stock at this time. Thank you.

Q: I have an investment in the Global Infrastructure fund (GIF.UN). As luck would have it, it's gone straight down since I purchased it. The yield is 6% so I like that but being down 11% on my capital offsets that value significantly. The Middlefield company website suggests an NAV $2 higher that the current unit price ($11 vs. $9). Is the posted NAV yet catch up with the real value? The top 10 holdings look like good companies to me. I could average down, sell or hold. Not sure at this point what to do. Any thoughts?
Second part question is that I don't healthcare exposure and wondering what you think of Middlefield's new healthcare fund GHC.UN is a good place to invest or would you suggest something else for exposure in this space? What's your opinion of the quality of the Middlefield management to provide a good investment vehicle, stable returns and growth?
Q: You note in recent news regarding Amaya.
"we advise shareholders to do nothing, unless they have a very big position, and then some caution is warranted. There is not enough information to make a sound decision just yet".
So my question is what would you consider a very big position, is this referring to percentage of a portfolio or cash value of the shares?
Q: I'm having difficulty in comprehending how this company is able to payout the dividend it pays ? Could you provide some insights please ? What would their payout ratio be ? I've owned it for several years and have done quite well, but am getting nervous.
Thanks Ed G
What is your opinion of the headlines on the news...BNN and News Papers talking of U.S. Hedge Funds selling Canada. Will our Market collapse under this selling pressure. It seems like they were doing a good job of selling the Canadian Market down except for the last three days.
