Q: Would you still consider holding this company(its in my TFSA)? It is about 5% of my portfolio and the recent decline is worrisome.

Q: I know you are getting sick of some of these oil related questions. Is the price of this not just getting crazy. What would it be worth if it had no dividend. Any extra news i haven't heard of.

Q: Two questions related to oil companies cutting back on expenditures and dividends.

Reaction to some oil companies saying they will cut back on cap expenditures has been swift with BDI down a lot today. (I assume that is why they are down). My question is how quickly do oil companies ramp up their expenditures once oil prices start to increase again (hopefully) and should we expect BDI to move up with oil prices or will there likely be a lag?

Secondly, what do you expect the market's response to be to the oil sector in general given Canadian Oil Sands decision to cut their dividend? Would you think all companies will drop or will it be on a case by case basis?

thanks.

Q: Good afternoon,

US discretionary spending is indicted to rise with oil dropping, wmt is hitting new highs in anticipation. I consider a moderate risk investment in light of "new money" theoretically ready to deploy. What are your thoughts, where will Canadians spend if discretionary spending increases, will they payoff debt ( bad for banks), would they spend on credit with increased sentiment on repay ability (good for banks, magna, cineplex).. where would you invest in light of the economic change?

Thanks,

Eric

Q: My portfolio is completely dividend paying companies, mostly former income trusts. You have recommended bond ETF's for diversification in the past. Could you give me a few names? I have always had the impression that bonds have very low yields.

Q: Hi,

TD just came out with a report saying that the liquidation value of NIF.UN is much greater than what it is trading at. Also they say that the dividend is safe. What is your view on both these statements. What is their current payout ratio?

Q: Hi folks: Looking for a website to see daily charts on how the 4 or 5 main "sectors" in Canada are doing. Not sure of the difference between a sector and an index, so maybe index charts would be better. Also, what is a "capped index"?

Q: Hello Team
I see that MFC has 1.9 B shares outstanding versus SLF's 612 M. I bought MFC before I saw your report on SLF. Given the similarities between the two companies, is the large number of MFC shares anything to be concerned about. I see the charts of both companies are moving along pretty well in sync.

Thank you for your efforts and great advice.
