Q: I have only a small percentage of US securities in my portfolio: MS, CSX, WMB and DFS. I've just heard about ENTG and am considering buying. I know you don't specialize in US stocks, but I'd sure appreciate an opinion if you know the company.Many thanks.

Q: Hello, I am coming into a significant one time lump sum amount of money. I currently have 44 stocks, all purchased after reading your web site. I have about 80% of the model portfolio. The others are stocks that seemed like good buys and so far I'm very happy with my overall performance. These good buys came from suggestions and comments I've read in your "questions" section (which I love by the way)

I'm considering taking 25% of the portfolio as cash - and waiting for downturns in sectors as we've seen in the last year. 25% in safer vehicles - any suggestions would be welcome.

50% in equity stocks. Am I too late or is the current market too saturated to split this 50% into your model portfolio? In your opinion, is the model portfolio - at this time a reasonably safe investment with potential for good returns from both capital gains and dividends?

For perspective, I'm hoping to earn $130k pretax per year, I'm just retired at 56 and will have slightly over $2 mil invested.

Q: A while back I added Timmins to my portfolio, I didn't have any gold exposure, and it was doing well up until the recent merger with Newstrike Capital. I went from up about 20% to even money....what is your opinion of the merger...should I hold or get out?

Q: Hi Peter and Team:
so far our RSP accounts have equity only (as per our model portfolio). We do not have any fix income such as bonds.

if we want to have 10% fix income, what's your recommendation to start with? So far we prefer to buy corp bonds. I am 50 now and may want to retire at 60.

Q: Hello: My TFSA value is $64,274. This includes $5,638 in cash that I need to invest. My objective is growth. My holdings:

AYA $9,370 (14.6% of TFSA)

XTC $7,424 (11.5%)

DHX.B $9,530 (14.8%)

CSU $32,312 (50%)

Thanks to 5i these stocks have done very well. The TFSA is about 8% of my total investment portfolio. Can you comment on the health of this mix? What stock(s) do you recommend I add with the cash?

I have a half position in GC but just cannot decide on whether to ad to this one or start buying into aya . Aya has been doing much better while GC has lost some ground .
Also I'm thinking of getting back into acq since it has had much better momentum of late and forward earnings look quite solid plus it's well down still from its high .
I would greatly appreciate your advice on these stocks .

Q: In their Fiscal 2014 report, the management "expected meaningful growth in fiscal 2015" and held cash per share $1.65. Given the large portion of business that comes from Western Canada what would you expect in terms of growth for 2015? Also in your October report you noted insider selling. Does this selling affect your otherwise positive opinion of management? Has that selling subsided? Would you be comfortable buying a small position here?
