Q: I have not heard much about PWT.Bought over $20 never seen a sell recommendation just a hold.Is there any hope for a recovery.Or just hold for a dividend.
Thanks,Brad
Q: I know you do not cover Am stocks but do you have any thoughts on CAI international(CAP).They have shipping containers.Seems like an ongoing business.Any Canadian stocks in this field. Thanks
Q: I visit your site regularly; it is my main source for investing advice and information. I have a question on financials. I am currently underweight financials (4%) in the form of BNS. I am thinking it is time to consider increasing my weighting. I could add to BNS, which I like for it's global exposure, or diversify by adding TD for exposure to the US. I would appreciate your comments. Thank you.
Q: Can you please give me your opinion on NWN [NYSE] I am interested in it for dividend yield, they have a good history, but their eps is down, and p/e is fairly high. Any thoughts on alternative, if this isn't a good choice?
Thanks, keep up the good work!!
Q: REM ETF holding mortgage companies has been building a solid base for 5 yr., good dividend. A buy for my USD portfolio as perhaps huge upside with improving home market in USA?? Your thouhgt Peter as it looks like more upside vs downside as well?
Q: PKI -all the technicals point to down trend. I have been following this one for a while for buying opportunity. Seems to have a lot of debt? Would you buy now or wait for long term hold?
What are your thoughts for upcoming first quarter earnings for both STN and BEP. In your opinion is this a good entry point for me on these stocks today.
Q: CSS Contrans is a bit weak today. I imagine it is because of TransForce reporting which the market didn't like it. How much should one draw from TransForce's earnings in relating to CSS? I got a 2/3 weighting in CSS before it ran away from me so am looking for a good pullback to buy the other 1/3.
Q: I'm thinking of buying Ainsworth Lumber (ANS)to take advantage of the housing recovery in N.A.. What do you think of this company and do you think the recovery in housing still has plenty of room to run. As always, thanks in advance for your valuable advice.
Just a general question. For interlisted stocks lets say ANV, if there is very high demand lets say in Canada and low demand in the US, what removes the arbitrage between the two prices. I am always perplexed as the volumes in the US are pretty high and is it US or Canada which determines the prices to be followed.
Q: Hi Peter,
Can you please tell me what you think of Qualcom, QCOM and whether it would be a good time to purchase this company? I am not sure that Buffet would be interested (not a simple business), but do you think it is a good long term investment. Thank you.
Q: I must say I can't really envision buying Barrick even if the sector were to recover. With all the cost overruns they have with that big project in Chile maybe it's a relief to them that the government has shut them down. I thought the Goldstrike mine in Nevada was their big profit generator but is the ore body almost exhausted? Why does Peter Munk have such influence on the company - I am told he has very few shares?
Q: Do you think SNC Lavalin is a short? Do you think SNC can generate enough legitimate earnings to make up for the loss of their "other" earnings? According to the news the World Bank has cut them off for 10 years. The CBC national news was promoting an soon upcoming documentary on SNC paying bribes to Bangledeshi public servants in order to score a new bridge funded by the World Bank. Thanks (I have never shorted a stock and don't expect to now but I am curious none-the-less).
Q: Hi,
You have Valeant Pharmaceuticals in your Model Portfolio which is listed as "Not Rated" and you also seem to be high on Paladin Labs. If I was to select one for my portfolio, which one would you suggest...or do you have a better choice than these two?
Thanks
