Q: I am approaching retirement and want to transition from a growth portfolio to an income portfolio. The stocks/ETFs in your model income portfolio look great, but I am concerned about potential price declines in higher yielding stocks/ETFs when inflation and interests rise as all the money being printed by central banks actually starts circulating in the economy instead of being held by the big banks.

Which stocks in your income portfolio do you think have the pricing power to grow profits in an inflationary environment?

Q: What do you think of the acquisition today of an oilfield rental company based in Fort St. John by Enterprise group? This would seem to be a direct attempt to strengthen their exposure to upcoming LNG development. Thanks.

Q: Hi Peter New member,very happy...wondering what your parameters are to keep a stock in equity portfolio as far as growth targets going forward (share value). For someone hopping on the some new names.....wondering if we have missed the boat on some of your real winners like AYA/CSU/SYL/ESL and what you continue to target for gains in some that have not so far like DSG/MDA or SJ before you would toss them out

Q: Hello,
I know you are generally positive in Aimia, but it has really been crushed due to decreasing cash flow estimates. Do you think its'
business may improve and grow over the long run, or is its' best case scenario just be a nice dividend payer? If you feel it could grow, why?

Q: hello, for fixed income portion of portfolio do you consider bonds as a better bet or stable low beta low risk utility/toll collector type stocks - ie BEP.UN, BCE etc. if bonds then which you recommend in current environment - XHY or cbo or chb or cab. if other category, then which ones you rec. thanks.

Q: More of a comment,

Latest report for CSX was excellent on all accounts and the share price has reflected as such. Dividend is strong and increasing, EV/EVBITDA ration is very low @ just over 9, and the company is looking at very good earnings growth prospects.

I think this is a stock that has a very bright future moving forward and would like to know if you agree. And was wondering if there may ever be a time when 5i might do a company report on a U$ equity?

Thought the rest of the 5i members might want to know more about a stock I think has a bright future.

Q: Please inlighten me on how the Reit distributions are taxed ( Interest or Dividends)...? Basically my question is, would it be more prudent to hold certain Reits in a Registared or Non-Registared acct?

Q: Hi 5i team. How should one interpret bid size and ask size when looking at a stock trading on any exchange? For example at one point today there was a bid size of about 143000 and an ask size of about 4000 on a stock I was watching. They seem to change constantly. Does this have to do with computer trading? Thanks for the info. Joe
