Q: To what extent are these two - or others like them - influenced by higher rates. My understanding was that this had become a very competitive sector yet both have appreciated significantly in recent months. What are their prospects?

Q: I'm aware of the interest rate and housing market sensitivity, but I'm still intrigued by the yield. Are the payouts of such MIC's classified as true dividend income (eligible for the dividend tax credit)?
If you aren't a big fan of these MICs, what would be your top 3 picks for companies with high (as safe as possible) yields (north of 6%)?
Thank you

Q: Hello 5i
Thanks for the service.
Checking in on a 5i current viewpoint for Timbercreek Financial.
I hold it after the merger of their two entities and really like the current 7.8% yield as income flow to Portfolio.
There has been lots going on related to interest rates and new entrants to potentially compete against TF.
Would you please offer you comments about continuing to hold this security and whether you consider any risk growing; price level and ongoing distribution?
Thanks
Dave

Q: I am resending question thanks for your patience. I was curious whether tf would be affected much by the new mortgage rulings, as it is a short term commercial investment grade mortgage lender. The share price seems to be climbing since the new laws were announced. It appears to have a high dividend with adequate coverage.. Thanks Tom
Q: What's your current view of Timdercreek. Is it a buy for an rsp account now with it's high yield or do you prefer another one in this space?
