Q: Peter, I am considering selling a portion of my RY which has been reasonably strong ( I will keep enough RY that it will be 3% of my portfolio. I also have TD and BNS, each at the same 3% ). I would invest the proceeds evenly over a basket including UNS, SCL, BAU, FTT, ACD, BDT, BEK.b, NAL, LIQ, RBA, FRC.........looking for small and mid-cap value, with some of them paying a dividend. Would appreciate your opinion. Many thanks, Barry.
Q: WIN
I'm surprised no one has asked already, comments regarding the Panasonic deal and shareholder outreach?
I understand that Wi-lan can't really comment on how much deals are worth as they are negotiating with other parties. However it makes it a little difficult to assess news. Was today's panasonic news worth $1 dollar, a game changer, or somewhere in the middle (hopefully more on the latter end)?

Q: Peter, the Globe and Mail prints a weekly list of short positions every Monday, listing companies with the highest shorts, by volume, by percentage increase or decrease. How useful should this information be to those interested in investing with such companies?

Q: hllo peter, just a general question.... I have quite a bit of cash to spend... should I wait until after the summer, as in general markets go down.... or should I spend it now on a down day.... what would you buy for dividends as part of a core holding, and is this the time to buy them?
Q: Peter, if you've answered this question previously, please don't post this. I have never put in stop loss sells and have never reacted market news or unfavourable market conditions, even 2008 except perhaps for buying. My belief is that the companies I own are sound and if sentiment or global conditions hick-up and equities tumble prices will come back. What are your thoughts on putting in automatic sell orders when prices drop a certain amount within a single day?
Q: helllo again, thank you so much for answering all of my questions.... interpipeline fund ipl.un has been going down lately even with up markets.... should i be concerned... I have made a nice profit on this stock.... should I sell? taxes involved and a good dividend.... linda
Q: SCS (Second Wave Petroleum):
Further to the Brookfield going private offer.
When OSB market was in distress a few years back Brookfield took control of NorBord and Answorth. NBD and ANS continued as public companies and all shareholders eventually benefitted. The SCS going private transaction (requiring a majority of the disinterested shareholders) appears to be nasty situation for the minority shareholders. What are your views on this aspect?

Q: Peter,
You have talked about CXS in the last few comments but have not provided any recommendation to hold, sell or buy. At this level is it a good buy for a two year time frame. Could this be a multi-bagger stock. Thanks

Q: NDM, from $2 to 20$, then to 2$ or so in tne past 5 years. Does that make sense ? Is it general in the sector or specific to the company ? Is it the story of cyclical stocks ?
Q: would you buy AVO now or wait for a pullback? It has been very strong but I worry it has more to do with recent events in Boston and FP exposure. I know the growth rate is high but is it getting too expensive to step in now?
