Would appreciate your recommendation for a top notch ETF that covers the Government Bond Market laddered one to five years and perhaps the same ETF in the U.S.
Thanks

Q: In answer to Patricia I would like to say I have been with Qtrade for 4 years and have not experienced any significant problem. In addition their website is very user friendly and clear. They have excellent customer service and were chosen as #1 by the Globe & Mail for many years (I didn't check their present ranking). The only web interruption I experienced were brief and on weekends (probably for maintenance).

Q: Just wondering why this stock has been doing poorly lately.
I know it's a risky stock with a high valuation, but I cannot see any particular negative news to explain the recent decline.
Thank you.

Q: The corruption scandal that is hitting Brazil's Petrobras, a number of high ranking government officials and several CEO's of oïl service companies has sent the country's economy into tailspin. It wouldn't be an exageration to say that there's blood in the streets of Brazil right now, which means that many otherwise profitable companies are selling at a deep discount. Companhia Brasileira de Distribuicao seems to be one of them. Based on what your Bloomberg terminal says about the company, would this be a good time to buy CBD or would you prefer to wait until the dust settles?

Q: Hello- Well, Td Waterhouse is not functioning AGAIN this morning. I find that this happens much more frequently than acceptable, especially including days when there is heavy volume on the open. I am thinking of opening another account with another trading firm and wondered- does this happen frequently with the other bank or Questrade etc trading accounts? Any recommendations for better service would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Q: This is fresh off the press: David's Tea (for those that have seen it's growth in the streets of major cities in Canada and select U.S. cities) has filed for an IPO. First question is if you guys are able to go through the IPO Form S-1 filing and if so, what do you guys think of this company coming to the market. I know you guys usually have reservations for any IPO companies, so how does this IPO rank?

Q: Hi Peter, as you know the Montreal-based David's Tea will be listed on the Nasdaq under the ticker DTEA. Will that be a good investment? My wife tells me that their stores are always very busy with plenty of clients. Thanks, Gervais

Q: Greetings
My TD WebBroker service is experiencing a major online outage today. Very limited quotes or online order entry is possible. I am sure they are available by phone but likely swamped with calls. Warren Buffett talks about buying stocks that you would be happy to own even they closed the exchanges for 5 years, something to think when you can't get an immediate quote on your position.
Post at your discretion.

Q: Hi Team,
I own a small position in CXV and was thinking about adding a little more or taking some profit. What do you think of the company at this time. Do you think a 2% weighting in a balanced portfolio is too much?
Thanks

Q: I own the ETF CDZ in my TFSA acct. The Mar. Statement had a CGDIV (+ $) and then a DRIP of the same amount (-$). ‘Settlement’ -Jan 8 then ‘Trade Date’ March 13. I did not receive any additional shares on the DRIP but my cost base was increased by the +$ amt. thus reducing the paper gain for CDZ on the statement. Would this be helpful in a taxable account for a sell? In a registered account it seems that there is no benefit to me? Is this some accounting process for the ETF.? If this happens with the ETF would it be best to hold it outside a registered account? I am primarily focused on ‘secure’ income at this time. I will appreciate any assistance in understanding the above. Thank you.
