Q: Thank you for your information on Phillips North & Hager's High Yield Bond Fund. The MER is .087 and the RBF1280 Symbol is shown on their website and is what I used to purchased it on Royal Bank Direct Investing. I tried PHN 285 on their site and it showed no response. The fund closes again this Wednesday.

Q: I bought this stock a month ago and have a small position and it was my intention to purchase more shares later by dollar cost averaging. I wasn't planning on doing this so quickly but with the recent down grade by Credit Suisse on this company and the price drop in the past few days, would you consider this to be a good time to increase my position. As they are reporting earnings on the 25th could the recent downgrade be attributed to speculation to a possible poorer result and if that is the case would I be better to wait until after the earnings report.

Does it peak in the winter months like Dec and Jan ? my 2nd question is that CU trades at a lower P/E (16) as compared to Fortis (23) and EMA (19), the return of CU is lower, is there a fundamental reason for CU for the relative poor performance ? Thanks for educating us

On the topic of value, I found it interesting to compare a recent report by a bank on NPI (Northland Power) to the 5i report released today on the company. The take away message from the bank’s report is more positive – NPI is a buy for share appreciation and income, while the 5i report draws a different picture based on the company’s high valuation, debt level, pay out, project risks, etc. The bank does disclose that NPI has been a client and it expects NPI to be a client in the near future. Reading both reports knowing that 5i’s assessment is independent, to me, is extremely valuable.

Q: I just learned that the Ontario government has ruled that P&C insurance companies will henceforth be required to lower their premiums on car insurance policies by 15%. I know that Intact Financial (and other insurance companies, I presume) has been fighting this for a number of years. Now that it's a fait accompli, how much of a negative impact will this have on the IFC's share price?

Q: Crailar's share price has been a disappointment the last several months. Pease let me know your thoughts on the company going forward for the next couple of years. I have been a long time holder of a significant number of shares, but less than 1% of my portfolio.
