Q: It would seem that A&W had a great quarter. Would you still put it behind Boston Pizza?
Secondly, it would appear that their results were released around noon. Isn't information like this always released when the markets are closed?
Thanks.

Q: Good afternoon:
You have mentioned SFL on occasion in the past. Would it be relatively safe to add to a small position at the present price for income purposes only?
Thank you.

Q: As we are all aware the energy sector in seriously out of favor and will probably experience a U recovery and not a V shape. With that in mind how would you compare Cathedral Energy vs Trinidad Drilling. Which one of the two has the best chance of surviving this downturn. As a contrarian play which one do you think is stronger? Thanks as usual...

Q: I covered my short on TWRT late tuesday afternoon. What do you think should be done with the stock at this lower price.
Q: What has happened to this since you recommended it on BNN? Seems to have tanked!
Q: Hi Peter and Ryan:
What are the chances of Prism getting bought? Special dividend + regular dividend in June. Seems to be going well.
Thanks

Q: Hi team
Thank you for all your advice and support. Open Text earnings appears to have missed estimates. Have you had a chance to examine the earnings and, if so,do you still think this is a good investment?

Q: Is Magna or Linamar the better buy? I have no sector exposure at present and a long-term horizon. Thanks!
Q: Hi there
I am up 17% on BAM.PR.M (Brookfield Preferred) over the years and have been very happy to collect the dividend but the preferred looks like it may reach the end of its life at the end of December 2015. Just wondering if I should sell now with the gain or wait until December 2015. It trades now for 22.68 and it looks like that Brookfield would have to pay me $25 to redeem. An I missing anything e.g. could they roll it into a new preferred at a lower interest rate?
Much thanks
Stuart

Q: How does TORC look with its recent purchase, compared to Spartan and COS. I own all three, and looking for the best of the three. From the market reaction, one might assume SGY did better in the TOG/SGY deal
Q: Does this translate into a win/win situation for both companies, and if so could you elaborate on the details? I realize that Surge wins by having the ability to wash out some of its debt, but it is a bit murkier on what the benefits are to TORC. TOG had to raise additional cash to buy Surge's assets, and needed extra backing from the CPP, if I'm understanding all this correctly. So, does this not weigh down the balance sheet for TOG? I own both and wondered should I be divesting myself of one or the other? (I like their respective dividends. Their potential for growth is now slightly less clear on who I should be rooting for.)
Q: Hi guys,
I recently purchased Snipp and it is down 17%. It is currently 4.2 % of my portfolio.
Should I cut my losses after the most recent pullback?
Thanks for your advice.

Q: In the US, there is different tax treatment for "long term" capital gains versus "short term" ones. Does such a differentiation exist in Canada?
Q: What are your thoughts on PHM's Q2 results released today?
Q: I would like to respond to Paul F`s question regarding the best time of the day to make a trade and as well look for some sort of logic as to what happened to Currency Exchange`s SP price since yesterday. I have been following your recommendation on this stock for several weeks now, but was leery on it as it does not offer a dividend. I finally could not resist buying into the growth expectations of CXI and decided to buy. CXI closed at $32.98 on Friday and opened yesterday around $33.00 with upward momentum. As per the strategy that you have communicated, I held off until 11:00 AM before placing an order. The quoted price at that point on BMO Investorline was roughly $33.40. Due to the live time delay of ½ hour, I unknowingly had the distinction of being probably one of a few people who bought at the record high of roughly $34.70. The SP then immediately took a tailspin and finished the day at $31.70. At the time of this writing the SP is now $29.47. I have owned the stock for less than 24hours and am down over 15%. My big mistake was not setting a price limit and as a result availing myself to the mercy of the bid-ask process. This negative however pales in comparison to the precipitous fall of the SP in such a short timeframe. I am looking for any amount of salve to heal my wounds but am more interested in sharing this with other newer investors who may learn from my mistake. In my own defence, I have to say that I did not expect this kind of volatility from a stock such as this. Caveat Emptor, I guess. Thank you.
Q: Hi Peter; whats up with cxi? I can't find any negative news that would cause such a dramatic drop. thanx Rick
Q: Could I get your take on Questor earnings and outlook for the future. Thank you.
Q: I bought some XSR for income, but also because earnings are forecast to rise in the coming years. As telecoms are focussing more on content, do you see any potential takeover interest in this stock ?
