Q: What are your thoughts on Brookfield Property Partners (BPY-UN)? I have been hesitant to get back into the REIT's considering interest rates have nowhere to go but up, but Brookfield has some excellent properties.
Q: I have owned Talisman [TLM] for a couple of years and am under water. At this point in 2014 I have capital gains which would easily offset the loss resulting from selling TLM. I'm looking for a suggestion on the way forward given this comment on BNN.
"We believe this provides an opportunity for astute, patient investors as the stock sells at a large discount to comparable companies and we do not expect that to stay that way forever. Investors also get to collect a 2.5% yield."
I don't need the cash so could sit tight and wait until later in the year. My energy exposure is about 7%. As a retired person I look more for yield than growth but do hold a number of your recommendations such as Amaya.
Appreciate your thoughts.
Ron

Best of luck with your bike trip. I was wondering whether the fees paid to 5i can be written off against taxes? Or is it a gray area? Publish this at your discretion but it could be a minefield!!
Cheers Jim

Hello Peter,
I noticed True North Apartment REIT appears to have bottomed out and is now moving in a
positive direction. I have not been able to find any news as to why this may be happening. Is this a good time to buy and is the dividend safer now (previously a 94% payout ratio)? Thanks.
