Q: Good morning, 5i. I was about to buy some Whitecap Resources when it was announced they are one of three players (CNQ and Venturion Oil being the other two) purchasing Barrick Gold's energy assets. Does this look like a good move for Whitecap (and the other two as well), or should I hold off and wait for the dust to settle? Many thanks for your valuable service. John.

Q: Hi There
For an addition to the oil and gas section of my diversified, income with some growth, retirement portfolio would you prefer WCP over SGY or vice versa or perhaps neither? I already hold FRU, ALA, CPG and VET.
Thanks as always.

Q: Hi Peter,
after the tragic accident at Lac-Megantic this past week-end, one analyst on BNN mentioned that it would be best to avoid oil sands names and wait for further developments.
Some would argue for the building of more pipelines such as the Keystone , after this unfortunate tragedy. What is your outlokk on holding such names as SU, CNE and WCP? Many thanks.

Q: Can you explain why WCP is up .33 today to 10.55 when they just had a private placement of 17M shares (which is more than 10% of the 147M outstanding)at 9.90. Should this have not depressed the stock price?
Q: Hi folks, I'm looking at Whitecap, Crescent Point and Baytex. How would you rank them for a long hold?
Thanks for the continuing great support.

Q: Hi Peter and team,
I have held CNQ for quite some time, but the stock, with the overall sector, hasn't been doing much. I am down about 20% on the stock. With some patience, I know the stock will rebound once the sector does, but I was thinking about potentially switching into Whitecap Resources or Raging River as they seem to have held up fairly well in the sector and have good growth prospects. In terms of upside potential, would you think staying with CNQ would be better than entering into one of these other names?
Appreciate your thoughts.

Q: Hi Peter and Team, could you please provide your thoughts on the Whitecap, WCP, news release today and how you think the stock will react in the morning at market open? Any ideas who they acquired from? Will Novus, NVS, by any chance re-act positively to this news release? Thanks!
Q: I'm wondering if you plan to do a report on Whitecap Resources (WCP). What are the strengths/weaknesses, how volatile is it, and is a "buy" at current prices (around $10).
Thanks!
Thanks!
Q: Peter; With WCP's earnings release today do you see a takeover coming? It seemed strange that these excellent numbers conicided with a huge volme ( 4.4Million) shares trading- before the annoubcement. Thanks. Rod
Q: What are your thoughts on today's news of the takeover by Whitecap Resources of Invicta Energy (VCA)? Also is the huge volume of Whitecap shares simply that of arbitrage or is there something more?
Q: Hi! Peter I am a new subsciber but long time fan. My question is on CPG and WCP both companies have dividends of 6% or better. I don't see these or other similar companies on your list. What is your view on these companies or oil producers in general. Thanks
