Q: Huge thank you for directing me to NBIS, VRT, CLS, and NVDA. With all of their success, I find that I have been slowly trimming these companies quite regularly. Currently I want to let them run for a bit longer than I normally would. So with that said, what is the maximum percentage of your portfolio you would feel comfortable holding the above companies before trimming?

Much appreciated!

5i Research Answer:

Weightings of course need to be based on personal risk profiles. The issue here is that these stocks are quite highly correlated to the AI boom. If there is a shift in growth expectations, they will all likely take big hits. We are fairly confident in the mid-term, but at some point the spending boom will most likely slow down. WE (higher risk investor) would be fine at NVDA 7%, CLS 6% (watch our growth portfolio for suggested allocation on CLS), NBIS 5%, VRT 4%. We have let NVDA run higher than 7% in the past at times.
