Q: What are the differences between XSP and ZSP? Which one would you give the edge to and why? Thank you.

5i Research Answer:

Both are tied to the S&P 500; the main differences are that XSP is currency hedged to the Canadian dollar and ZSP is not. Also, XSP owns units in a US mutual fund and ZSP owns its stocks directly. This gives ZSP the edge in regards to holding taxes. Many investors like a hedge, though, and XSP is fine if a currency hedge is desired.
