Over five years, we note a difference of 1.29% in annualized performance. XSP is hedged to the Canadian dollar, and currency differences account for 0.57% of the 1.29%. We can't fully explain the rest of the difference, though it may be due to higher Canadian taxes, admin fees, slippage in trading and the fact that XSP is smaller so some expenses are divided by a smaller denominator.
