Q: Given your "We feel that we are currently coming out of the trough, recovering into an expansion" would you endorse SLF to BNS switch for 7% div and eventual BNS stock recovery (how likely)?
This is my way of setting up my portfolio for (eventual) retirement.

We would rather own both, as SLF is 'working' well and BNS of course is not. BNS does have recovery potential, but we are always reluctant to switch from the good to the less-good in hopes of a better return. We think BNS can still be accumulated and the new CEO will outline growth plans in two weeks. But we would prefer diversification over a one or the other call here.
