Q: Hello,
What is your current analysis of AHF's ability to sustain it's dividend? Has there been any changes to it's dividend in past few weeks that have been announced?
It's is difficult to find accurate info on payout ratio and debt level for this smaller cap stock. Could you provide from Bloomberg if available please?
It appears there is little downside from current price and some upside (eventually) while being paid to wait - thoughts on idea?
Thanks,

Q: Hello Peter, Your thought and advise on BDI, ACQ, SPE, BAD, SGY, AVO, FM. These are the losers (average 30%) in otherwise balanced portfolio ( mostly 5i). DO YOU RECOMMEND TAKING LOSS AND MOVE ON TO OTHER MODEL PORTFOLIO STOCKS OR YOU STILL LIKE TO KEEP ANY / ALL OF THESE, ALSO, IF YOU PREFER TO KEEP THEN DO YOU RECOMMEND TO ADD IN ANY/ ALL THESE TO BRING BACK TO ORIGINAL PORTFOLIO WEIGHTING.THANKS AND LOOK FORWARD TO SEE YOU IN THE SEMINAR.

Q: Hello Peter,
Fairfax has been on a roll lately. The fundamentals are good from PE and ROE, but the technical now are over bought (RSI). Any reason why the stock continues upward? I do not see any news other than Fairfax india IPO and potential Blackberry takeover (as Fairfax owns 10% of the company). Any comments. Also, to de-risk my portfolio, if I am to put more money in Fairfax, is it better to add to FFH or use those proceeds to invest in FIH (Fairfax india ) once the IPO stables (as you had indicated in prior replies about potential of fee covering of 8% from brokers etc from IPO). I have seen your replies on Knight Therapeutics that is a sector and management bet. When it comes to companies like these, does one simply go on technical charts to buy and sell as there is not much in terms of fundamentals to base the buying decision (what price to pick it up at). Also, BioSyent has been referenced as the next potential Paladin Labs. If so, can you see a potential of Knight buying BioSyent? Thanks again and appreciate the detailed replies you provide.

Q: Hi guys,

I would like to start dipping my toe in any of these names, the only thing that is stopping me is that I am worried about valuation. I need some exposure to consumer staples/discretionary and healthcare however, I would not like to buy at high multiples if possible.

I would like to know if I should wait for a little pullback OR buy now and if there is a pullback add to a position. Could you comment on the future prospects on them if you can, it will help my decision.
Feel free to suggest any other names that might be a better substitute.
Thanks, keep up the great work, it truly helps alot !!!!

Q: I am new to this investing game, so have a ways to go to get an understanding of important details.
I notice that on my QTrade profile sheet for this ETF the yield is 7.6% but the Jan 23/15monthly distribution was only $.074. This monthly amount X 12 months = $.89 which is about a 3.3% yield on a $27.00 ETF. Can you explain the discrepency?
Can the dividends be automatically reinvested?
Thankyou for your answers....Jim

Q: Hello,
Can you please comment on Reitmans. Is there really a turnaround story there ? I have been holding for 1 year now with about 25% gain. Since they cut the dividend I don't really see a reason to hold on to it. Not to mention the retail space doesn't appear to be very exciting at the moment. Thank you for your comments.

Q: As a follow up question, the bonds etfs I meant to list before autocorrect are xhy, cvd, cpd, cbo, xbb,Flot. I plan to hold 2% weight in portfolio of each, does this make sense (any overlap?) or can I cut any? Also, you mentioned taking 10% from canadian equity and switching to international, can you list your top 2 or 3 international equity etfs that you prefer? Thanks again, sorry for confusion on bond etfs

Q: Hi Peter & Team,

I'm a little concerned about the debt load of Chesswood plus its small cap. I'm considering selling my position and taking on Canaccord instead, which is not without its own risks but it looks cheap at the current value. Could I please have your opinion on this swap?

Thx
Dave
