Q: Great webcast today Peter! Quick question: I have had Manulife MFC since before they cut their dividend 50%, and the stock price tanked. It has come back some, but I'm wondering if I should continue to hold, or take my year end tax loss, and buy Sunlife instead. I also hold GWL.
Q: I am going to buy SLF through an on-line broker however when I put the SLF ticker symbol in there were several options to purchase like ordinary shares and preferred shares series 1 through 5.
Which should I be putting in my TFSA?

Q: I am not certain that you received my email: I noticed that at least two other members' questions had gone astray last week, and am wondering if the same happened here.
My request was, roughly, as follows:
1. Would you be able to provide a preferred comparison of AIG and MET: wondering if either one of these is a good play for insurance exposure, or would you recommend a Canadian
life-co over either one of those?
2. XEG: I have been simply "breaking even" on this one for the better part of 18 months and would like to switch to something with at least "some" growth in the energy sector. I was thinking of walking away from the ETF and switching to CNQ perhaps. What would be your opinion?
Thanks very much!

Q: Hi:
In my RRSP, I have some bonds, XTR and Mawer Balanced fund
I still have some cash in my RRSP
I am thinking of adding some Sun Life and MFC because if the interest rate continues to edge up, the bonds will decline but the insurance company could do well, it is logical ?
thanks!

Q: Looking at SLF for a long term income/growth hold. The growth is secondary to reliable income and market stability, but their Chinese and other Asian holdings imply that there may be some growth as well. Your thoughts, please.

Q: We have 850 shares of BCE and 450 shares of T. I'm getting sick of the shenanigans that the government is playing, inviting in foreign investors with advantageous entries. Is it time to dump these? We are also heavy in energy, pipelines, banks, etc, so what would you suggest as an alternative?
Q: Hello, I am thinking about buying an life insurance company as a hedge against rising interest rates. I would switch funds that I currently have in Riocan REIT. Do you think that this is a good idea and if so which of the companies would you recommend ie Manulife, Sunlife, or Great West Life. or any other insurance company you like. Thank you very much for your consideration.
Q: Hi Peter and 5iResearch Team,
Can you please compare the valuation, and ST/LT performance outlook for Sunlife, SLF in Canada vs. Metlife, MET in the US.
Thanks so much.
Linda

Q: I wonder if you would please recommend an insurance stock to add to my conservative portfolio.
Q: Good morning,
A few months ago, you responded to a life insurance query I had and recommended that Industrial Alliance (IAG-T) would be the prudent decision. You were bang on; thank you. My question is whether I should add to my position or invest a Sun Life (SLF-T)?
Thanks, Vince

Q: Good Morning: Could you please give me your thoughts on Sun Life Financial
Q: Hi Peter,
Great information. I have held Sun Financial for several years, and have seen its value eroded, although still providing a decent dividend. Would it be advisable to divest on a portion of my holdings in this company? I'm looking to replace it with other div. stocks.
Thanks,
John
