Q: I have positions in AVO, BYD, BAD, CGX, CNR, ESL, SGY, SLF, STN, T, XGD and ZLB. I am 50% in cash and want to either add two or three positions or just increase the current positions. Would you please suggest a course of action, including any changes to my current positions. I am 67 and mildly risk tolerant. Thank you for the wonderful service.

Q: Hi Peter, Ryan and staff
What is you opinion on the big swing in share price of Mart Resources MMT on Tuesday? The deferment of the dividend obviously caught many by surprise and more than offset the news that the alternate pipeline was virtually complete. They hint that they may reinstitute a dividend depending several factors. I have held this stock for some time and there has always been the promise of some future catalyst to keep me involved. Now they say they are also bidding on additional oil reserves. My gut says to hold a bit longer but as always I value your insight

Q: Hello Peter & Co.
Tip of the hat to you guys for having responded to one of my questions on a Sunday; don't you take a break?
My wife's RRIF (portfolio of 11 stocks) has CGI as the only tech exposure; I know it is one of your least favourites. Which of CSU, DSG, ESL, MDA, OTC, SYZ, ET would be a good replacement?
Thanks
Tony

Q: Good afternoon, 5I,
CXR - Concordia Healthcare. Has the story changed? Down almost 14% over the course of the last 6 trading sessions, which is most unlike it. Could this simply be some fund exiting its position because of its cost or has something else affected the stock?

Q: Hi 5i Team,
If you had to categorize it, would you consider Cineplex (CGX) to be a value stock or a growth stock?
Thank you again for a great service!

Q: Good morning:
As a senior with new money to put into a non registered account, would you buy the banks, Ry,Bns,Td for long term hold,(5 to 10 years )especially now when they are so high. Would you make another suggestion if not the banks. Thanks

Q: Peter and team, RE: Mart Resources MMT.
could today's meteoric rise means that insiders are optimistic about the company moving past its operational issues? is MMT a possible take-over target? Or is the crisis in Iraq causing prices for oil to spike in the region and MMT is benefiting?

Q: Hi: In the Tech sector I currently have CSU and MDA at 3% each, and ESL,GIB,OTC and DH at 1.5% each or 12% of my total portfolio in Tech stocks. I am thinking of selling one to reduce the number of stocks, while buying more of some of the remaining stocks. Perhaps to increase my overall tech exposure as well.
Your thoughts would be appreciated.
Also, do you consider AYA to be a Tech stock or a Consumer stock assuming the acquisition goes through.

Q: Your insights on latest deal between Medtronics and Covidien please. I'm own shares of Cov.us; sell or take Mdt.us offer? Thanks.
Q: Good Morning,
I recently came into $23k US which is pure investment money. I do not need it for anything else. I would like to keep it in US funds. Are there any screaming buys out there for growth and/or income that I could park the money and watch it grow?
Thanks,
Rick

Q: As a starting investor I had a small amount of capital in the form of an RRSP contribution and have bought equities, however I need to keep adding to my portfolio as I have only just begun investing. Thanks to your team some of my stocks have done quite well and based on the 10% limit I should be trimming positions in them but my long term goal would be to have more shares of the equities in question so would have a hard time selling shares in these companies with that goal. Yet, I do not have enough capital to buy enough of my other investments to bring these weightings back below 10%. What is a good strategy to move forward? Do you recommend small monthly contributions or save until I have a designated amount to contribute say $5000?
Q: I've been looking at a few boutique banks, specifically Greenhill & Company (GHL) and Lazard (LAZ). They both pay nice dividends and seem to be gaining steam from all the M&A activity lately. What is your opinion on these two and boutique banks in general. Thanks
Q: I know this is very speculative, but do you see any stocks you think are strong takeover targets? I'm ideally looking for those with strong fundamentals as well.
Q: I often read a comment from traders along the lines of "this stock is not a buy and hold --it is a stock you trade for profits " Can you suggest a few stocks that you " trade for profits " Thanx Robbie
