Q: Peter,

I bought ANV recently at a price of 11.6. In the collapsing gold sector, is it too much risk considering management came out with the production numbers and they are reporting on May 6.

Q: What is the team's thoughts on BPY - will it be like BIP and BEP? What is the difference between BPO and BPY? Thanks Brent

Q: Hi 5i: I'm retired and a buy and hold investor. Most of my portfolio is fine with the exception of Baytex. I bought 540 shares of BTE two years ago and since then it has declined 25%. The options I'm considering are:
1. Continue to hold BTE.
2. Sell BTE and put half the proceeds into Keyera (although it has run up a lot recently) and half into a non-energy, non-financial stock.
3. Sell BTE and put all the proceeds into non-energy, non-financial stocks.
(At present my energy stocks are PPL,IPL.UN,CPG,KEY,PKI and BTE. They make up 40% of my portfolio while financials make up 15%.
I'd appreciate your view on the above options and any suggestions re: non-energy, non-financial stocks.

Q: TD Securites today issued a buy rating on Renegade (RPL) with a target price of $2.50. Insiders are not selling stock and INK Research show net buying of $169,250. I hold stock and think on a risk - reward basis the stock is worthwhile holding. Do you have an opinion? Thanks, Bill

Now that MBAC (MBC) has completed it's bought deal financing at $2.20, do you think this as a good time to buy more (I.e. average down)? Seasonally August is better for Ag stocks, but does the financing change the timing for MBC? Thanks

I currently own 26 stocks, including 5 golds. I'm ok with volatility. I'd like to consolidate the golds to 3. How would you rank Argonaut (AR), B2Gold (BTO), Detour DGC), Eldorado (ELD) and Sandstorm (SSL)? I noticed that CML Healthcare (CLC) has continued its nice upward trend (since getting spanked in November), even through the past five days. It it buy-able now? Thanks.

Q: RPL's announcement yesterday, which included a planned 'strategic review', was no doubt meant to alleviate investor concerns. But the stock has sunk further today. I'm down 32% since the news release 3 weeks ago started the rout. Would you advise holding on for now or selling?

Q: The market got hammered yesterday. The commodities, especially gold, took a beating because of slower than expected growth rates in China. I get that. What I don't understand is why EVERYTHING goes down because of that. I mean, my Boston Pizza, or Brookfield Residential or MTY food have noting to do with any of that. But BRP was down 7.22%. MTY down 4.34%, Manulife down 3.14%. Is it all just computers selling everything, so it doesn't matter what you're in? I'm not in oil, commodities or gold at all but I still took a huge pasting.
