Q: Hello,
I have been slowing adding stocks from the model and income portfolios over the last 3 months. I currently own G,DHX,BAD,SGY,ESL,SLF,DSG & SJ. All with 5K original investments. I now have another 15K to invest. Should I buy more shares of the stocks that are down that I currently own (BAD&SJ) or add new positions? If new what stocks would fit best?

Q: Good afternoon,
I'm setting up a TFSA for my daughter who turns 18 next week. I plan on contributing the max $5500 at that time, and would like your suggestion on what to purchase. Ideally, I'd like this money to be available to her in 4-5 years for a downpayment on a house, so safety is important as well as equity appreciation (without a crazy amount of risk).

By the way, I'll likely be contributing $5500 each year for the first 4-5 years.

Q: Hi Team, Just wondering if it would be possible for you to put the full name of the company in instead of just the stock symbol if the person asking the question hasn't done so. Q: Hi, Any idea why the US insurance co, AET, is way down after a positive earnings report? I'm now 4% down. It's about 5% of my portfolio, intended as a safe pick to balance growth stocks. I'm about 50% growth and 50% blue chip dividend stocks overall.

As a long term investor should I sell or hold on? Thanks

Q: The stock price of FEIC (FEI Comp)gaped down today. Earnings looked fine but guidance seemed less than expected. Just wondering if you see anything "alarming".

Q: Intact Financial informs they are experimenting with investments abroad. They advised they invested $20 million in a broker in Brazil. Is there somewhere in their financial statement that would reveal who the broker is and what percentage of it they now own and if this may be Life Insurance or perhaps Non Standard property/auto?
