Q: Hi, what is your opinion on these minimum raté reset prefs? An 8% yield seems interesting given the solidity of the issuers. Am I wrong to assume that they will one day go back to 25$ ? Even if it takes 5-10 years the total return potential and risk/return ratio seems pretty good (especially in a non registered account). Thanks!

Q: Hi,
Following the Dec18 question of Carl on BEP.PR.M, I have a remark about BEP/BIP preferred shares. These are not pure dividend plays. As for BEP/BIP common stock, revenue is a mix of ROC (30%-40%) /dividend and some interest. Could make a difference where you want to hold them, coming tax time…. FYI : Tax links are available for BEP/BIP common and preferred shares at https://bep.brookfield.com/stock-and-distribution/tax-information and https://bip.brookfield.com/stock-and-distribution/tax-information . Cheers to all.

Q: The yield on the issue was 5% ($1.25/share). The reset guarantee minimum is 5%. The trades are now trading at $21. This means the if I buy the shares at this price my guarantee floor is 5.9% ($1.25/$21).
If I am looking for income not dividend growth are some of these discounted prefs a reasonable option?

Thank you,
