Q: Good Morning 5i team

Temperatures are dropping in the US big time and another cold winter is likely. Natural gas is a major fuel source for both heat and electricity. It is produced as we all know largely as an "associated gas" when oil is pulled out of the ground.

According to S&A Resource Report, Natural Gas supply/inventory is at a 5 year low in the US. And at $60 PB many of the oil producers will be shutting down less profitable wells in turn reducing NG production when it appears it may be needed the most.

My question is this... which well managed NG producing Canadian Companies would you recommend? And what is your view on my above comments?

Thanks for all you do

Gord

Q: Hi Team

Which Sector would you fit Amaya into? Consumer Discr. or Info Tech?? Also is it not trading today? My TD accounts show it frozen at a certain price ($37.70 and not moving all day). Also I would just like to say, I have done so well (excepting energy 10% down to 6% due to falling prices), having fun and am learning so much, since I joined in March/14. thank you thank you

Q: I curently have some cash to invest in my portfolio which for the most part is now similar to the model portfolio (thanks to your advice!) I am under my allocation in all sectors (3 to 4% range) so I have flexibility where to add. You mentioned in a recent response to Tim that Surge (SGY) has good upside potential when the market turns from this recent sell off. Do you have a few other suggestions that you feel have the portential to recover quicker relative to others? thanks again and again. John

Q: Hello 5i team,

Was very surprised to not find any comments/questions in the forum on ENB after a 10.53% jump in share value today.

I have read about the increased div as a result of the massive restructuring plan in place. Is there any other reasons you know of for the jump? And with this increase, my portfolio allocation has risen to 6% - would you recommend a trim?

Thanks for all you do

Q: Are you going to make any portfolio changes in the near future? I am slowly transitioning into your portfolio and am wondering if you will make any changes in the new year. I have some cash on hand and have been waiting for a timely entry, perhaps the time is nearing! Thank you once again.

Q: Hello Peter:

I see on some bullboards for stocks that investors ask someone to post the house positions for a certain stock. What info can be derived from this? Is this how much the various brokerages have traded a stock for their clients or is it how much these brokerages actually own themselves and move around. I am with Scotia iTrade and my trades are personal decisions, do they end up in these house position totals?

Thanks in advance

Brendan

Q: Hello, crazy times in the oil patch. I am hearing some analysts touting oil and worried about natural gas and of course lots of people saying the opposite. I do have Tourmaline which is down of course. Any sense switching for CNQ, or just let time do it's thing . I was going to wait until closer to the end of tax loss selling before making any changes

Q: Two questions related to oil companies cutting back on expenditures and dividends.

Reaction to some oil companies saying they will cut back on cap expenditures has been swift with BDI down a lot today. (I assume that is why they are down). My question is how quickly do oil companies ramp up their expenditures once oil prices start to increase again (hopefully) and should we expect BDI to move up with oil prices or will there likely be a lag?

Secondly, what do you expect the market's response to be to the oil sector in general given Canadian Oil Sands decision to cut their dividend? Would you think all companies will drop or will it be on a case by case basis?

thanks.
