Q: Hi
2 stocks - same problem . I have held full positions in Potash and Precision Drilling for over a decade . I get a decent dividend but I am ridiculously under water on both stocks ( although Potash has come back a bit ) .

Both are in my taxable account so at least I can record the huge loss on my taxes ... Maybe I should by Ag Growth and replace these two . Thoughts ? / Thanks

Q: hello 5i:
I am looking at investing in the "Income" part of OUR portfolio, and have been examining POT and AW.UN. POT pays a 4.6% dividend, trades at an 11.1 P/CFL vs a normal 13.8 P/CFL. AW.UN pays a 4.9% dividend, and trades at a 17.4 P/CFL vs a normal 13.1 P/CFL. The numbers I've quoted for normal are long term price/cash flows. Dividends look quite similar, and neither company is growing quickly (though POT should have more potential, I'd think). You have been strong advocates of AW.UN. Help me out here; don't the fundamentals favour POT. Isn't AW overvalued here and POT undervalued (I realize this is only one metric - what else should I be looking at?)
thanks

Q: Further to 5i's response re: David's question on Nov. 19th about Potash Corp. It might be useful to note that the world's largest Potash producer, Russia's OAO Uralkali had a shutdown at one of it's mines within the last few days that seems to coincide with POT's pop(as well as Mosaic's in the US). Though preliminary, it appears as if the mine closure will be an extended one. The mine in question supplies roughly 20% of Uralkali's total production. This could be viewed positively for the potash market as this drop in supply may help keep near term supplies tighter.

Q: I have held POT since the $34. range so I am happy with the results to date. However I am wondering if this might be a good time to sell and switch into something with more torque, possibly in the industrial sector. POT represents approx 4%. Any suggestions or perhaps with talk of a possible buyer perhaps holding is ok.
Thanks. As always your service is extraordinarily helpful & informative.
