Q: I am wanting to improve my portfolio diversification and am looking for more consumer, health care and transportation holdings. Could you recommend the 5 best for each sector, bearing in mind that I am looking for growth and some income. Thanks.
Q: Hi Guys
Took over a 50% Haircut on Morrison Supermarkets in the U.K. Sold it in early October, with the idea I would use it for a tax loss and then re-purchase it after 30 days.
My feelings are mixed now that the position has been sold for close to a month, I know the competition is fierce with the arrival of the discounters, you only have to look at Tesco.Do you see value in Morrison at these levels considering they could monetize some of the real estate value of their grocery stores.
Thanks Gord

Q: Hi Peter, Can you give us your opinion on Baytex with this tax bill that they could be hit with. Linc is http://business.financialpost.com/2014/11/04/baytex-energy-faces-57-million-tax-penalty/?__lsa=b8fc-2bc7. We are hugely underwater and the situation seems to get worse every day. Is there any reason to continue to hold this stock or should we throw in the towel.
Q: You Oct 31 Coverage Summary report still has a B rating for HNL.

Q: I noticed you did not sell Contrans in the model portfolio at end Oct. If I understand this correctly now that Transforce has 70% it will buy those shares pending regulatory approval but it would need something like 90% to force remaining shareholders to sell. With this as a possible outcome would you continue to hold Contras as a minority shareholders in a Transforce controlled company? If not, sell at discount now or tender?
Thanks
Thanks
Q: I currently hold only CSU (6% of portfolio) in the Canadian tech sector. Looking to add one of OTC, ESL or GIB.A. What would be your preference for a long term hold (5+ years)?
Q: Hi. Some education please. In an answer yesterday you said "EPS of $0.147 and actual EPS of $0.24 (adjusted and diluted)". What do you mean by adjusted and diluted? Does it have anything to do with the $100 million they raised by selling shares? Thanks.
Q: Hello...I was just searching the website for the recommended financial books for increasing base knowledge...can you point me in the correct direction
Thanks again

Q: I know you like SUM from previous communication. A fine jump again of 7.14 per cent as a result of positive quarterly results. Do you consider this a long term hold and might Solium qualify soon for your investment portfolio? Thanks.

Q: I am a holder of this Bank and the news today took me by surprise. Would this be the right time to sell or hang in there for the long term?
Q: While, today, CPG is down 2.3%, SPE down 3.0% and WCP down 3.71, Enerplus is down 7.7%.
Why would that be?
Thanks

Q: Hi folks: Would MKP be a good "get paid while you wait" stock to own at this time?
Q: Hi Team,
In light of your answers to single stock weighting questions I am wondering if a $30,000 RESP account comprised of 9 to 10 individual stocks would be considered too risky (10-11% weithting/stock). I am fairly comfortable with risk/volatility, but would also want to preserve the funds. They have been recently switched from mutual funds; should I put a portion in ETFs? If yes, what ETFs would you suggest and what percentage.
As always, thanks for the great service.

Q: The next quarterly report will come out tentatively November 13 or 14 according to the company.
Q: Given that BXE is down another 12% today, is it finally time to give up on it, take my lumps and just move on?
Q: Home is reporting earnings tomorrow which I expect will be good, with the continuing strong real estate market. I wonder if events like earnings reports are good times to buy or to sell, particularly with financial stocks?
Q: I have held this in various accounts for over a decade and it just keeps paying out its dividend through the ups and downs. As I get closer to retirement age I would like to buy more as it is has of the best percentage dividends. The price is down right now. Do you feel this is just along with the rest of oil and gas in the market, or is there any other reason to have concern. Thanks.
