Q: Not sure whether this is a fair question or not. I have been trying to find out which companies may best profit from a couple of new technologies being driverless automobiles and 3D printing. Would you have any insight into this? Thanks in advance.

Q: Commenting on options. I found when I wanted to sell a call on one of my stocks the fees were so high that it wouldn't be worthwhile unless you had a substantial sum to invest.
These stocks are doing quite well lately CYBR, TRN, SKX and PTX - All U.S. Do they look like they will keep going up in this manner? If any look shakey - please let me know.

Q: Hello 5i
most of our portfolio is comprised of stodgy, stocks such as consumer staples. They are good but i have too many of them. and so i was thinking of buying something that is, I don't know how you would call it, say modern (?).
I have been looking at Google, Apple and Symantec. And was wondering if you thought one might be preferable to another these days.? Apple seems to be very popular and so i thought i might shy away from it. Although from what i gather, even with all of the recent growth, it is still reasonably priced. Google is everywhere! And Symantec may prosper from the rise in cyber crime and hacks.
thanks for any help

Q: Hi Everyone!! I am rounding out my portfolio. I have my bond and stock allocations and even though I hold 12 US dividend aristocrats, I would like to add a good broad US stock ETF and a world ETF which excludes North America. I would like to use Canadian currency to invest. Could you suggest a few? Thank you for your excellent work. Cheers, Tamara

Q: ARII reported last night and the only negative seems to be lower revenue due to more rentals than sales. Although this shows up as a one time negative, it strikes me as a longer term positive overall. Your thoughts are appreciated, suggesting that the sell-off is short cited. Thanks.

Q: I have only a small percentage of US securities in my portfolio: MS, CSX, WMB and DFS. I've just heard about ENTG and am considering buying. I know you don't specialize in US stocks, but I'd sure appreciate an opinion if you know the company. Many thanks.

Q: Hi Peter & team
I am trying my best to makes heads OR tails out of the ComCast TWX merger, whether it will or will not receive approval from federal regulators, and what each outcome will mean moving forward.
Presently, I am up over 34% not including an OK dividend. And I think I have an idea what to expect if the merger proceeds... as per one article I read "As part of the deal, Time Warner Cable investors will receive 2.875 of Comcast stock for each of their shares." A nice windfall for sure.
Today one analyst reported the merger has only a 60% chance of approval, and another lowered the odds of the deals approval to 70% from 80%. And ComCast is down 1.53% today on the news.
To be honest I don't think I have a choice but to hang in there as an positive decision (expected summer 2015) is far to juicy if approval is received.
My questions... with your resources what are you hearing and what are your thoughts about this merger' chance of going ahead?
And if it doesn't what do you think that will do to the share price for TWX?
And finally, what would you do in my situation?
As always after renewing my subscription for the first time... thanking you for all you do
Gord
