Q: Sherritt Int. (S) I have a small “speculative” position (ACB $3.73) that I had been acquiring on the premise that they would do something with the Coal assets and become predominantly a Nickel Miner/Refiner and when the Nickel market improves have a good mid/longterm upside potential.

They have sold the Coal assets but I hadn’t contemplated the Obed spill and George Armoyan’s “activism” and the pending “Proxy fight”. Shareholder activism is generally a good thing. If nothing else it tends to remind the Management and BOD of their responsibility to the Shareholders. In this case I am not sure what George Armoyan has to offer if he is successful in his effort to basically take over the BOD. I am not aware that he or his two other BOD nominees have any International Mining experience.

Your thoughts will be appreciated. Would you hold a “small speculative position” and see how things play out or get out of the way and watch from a distance? I am basically a mid/longterm investor and have learned that having patience with a company that is going through a rough patch can be very rewarding.

Q: I have a small position in Denison (DML) but am thinking of increasing it. In the past you have been cautious on uranium sector. There are only a few DML questions asked and not many recent. Q: Hello team, thanks for the well reasoned reply to my AYA question. I am thinking it may be time to add an industrial mining company to my portfolio, like a VALE for iron ore or TCK or FM in the coal or copper space. I have no miner exposure presently. Your only miner is in gold. What would you do here? Are you tempted to add one to your portfolio as a value play on eventual global recovery to include these stocks. Many thanks.

Q: Hi Peter I own a considerable amount of Callinan Royalties (CAA). The company is doing a normal course issuer bid("The Bid") thru the TSXV to increase share value. Can you please tell me what this means. CAA has large cash reserves and no debt. Thank you.

Q: Hello 5i. I hold an equal number of shares of G and OSK. I seem to be in a position of gaining on the swings and losing on the round-abouts. How would you play this? Sell G because, as you suggest, they may have to raise their offer, and their decline will thereby be hastened while OSK can only gain? As always, I look forward to your reply.

Q: Appreciate your thoughts on Goldcorp offer to buy OSK (Osisko) at $5.95 / share vs $5.17 last closing price. I have held this since $8-$9. It would seem this is an unappealing offer and future prospects for OSK appear good. What would your expectations be? Thanks.
