Q: hello 5i:
I've held CRM for a number of years and have a good gain on it, albeit nowhere near what it was. I am content with the amount of tech in the portfolio overall, but am a little light on consumer.
The question, realizing that SHOP is not purely a tech play: do you see SHOP as having a better return forecast than CRM? Can you elaborate?
thanks
Paul L

5i Research Answer:
If we look at just consensus earnings growth, SHOP is the clear winner over the next three years. In addition, we think SHOP is far less vulnerable than CRM to AI competition and negative sentiment towards enterprise software. SHOP is also, essentially, in a duopolistic position in many markets (with AMZN). SHOP has lots of cash, CRM has a decent amount of debt. CRM is, though, much cheaper on valuation. But we would still side with SHOP in a straight-up contest.
