Q: TD Waterhouse has 1.8% interest for TDB8050 cash mutual fund. Are there other hisa funds that are better?

Then what other nearly as secure options are there that can offer above inflation rates? I have xbb, zag, xrb, vbu for bonds.

5i Research Answer:

Rates are very similar and GICs will still offer better returns. Indicated rates will also vary with rates, but right now PSA is indicated at 1.95%. CASH 2.33%. HISA 1.83%. Bond funds will offer higher rates, with the potential for gains, but do come with rate risk. Shorter maturities are less risky. A short term fund such as XSB currenty yields 3.06%.
