Q: Dear 5i
If i was to buy 10k worth of a US stock with CD dollars , would the Fx conversion costs be significantly more then if i bought the same US stock as a CDR considering a CDRs embedded fee`s ?
Thanks Bill C

It really depends on which bank/brokerage is used. CDR hedge fees are approximately 0.40%. Many brokers f/x fees are approaching 1%, but some will be lower. If an investor is trading, the in/out f/x costs of a US$-C$-US$ trade will likely be higher than a CDR buy/sell.
