Investment Q&A

Not investment advice or solicitation to buy/sell securities. Do your own due diligence and/or consult an advisor.

Q: I have experimented with several AI engines (including ChatGPT , Grok, and Copilot) and have noticed numerous inaccuracies when cross-referencing against reliable sources. I’ve also found responses somewhat sycophantic. At best the tone of responses I get are overly deferential, even when I am careful to keep my prompts neutral and precise . This can lead to incorrect conclusions and wrong decisions.
Please share your insight, views and comments on which premium AI platform currently provides the most reliable and *up-to-date* forensic data on businesses for informed buy or sell decisions. I’d appreciate your insights and , if possible, specific recommendations.

5i Research Answer:

On the investing idea generation side of things for AI tools, we still find they lack a bit. In many cases, any ideas the tools come up with tend to seem a bit 'consensus' and often the data is not overly reliable due to them grabbing data from not the best sources or simply using wrong time periods. We have also seen instances where they still hallucinate, particularly with ETFs. Overall, they can be great tools for backing up one's research process on a fundamental level but we don't think they are 'there' yet in terms of generating unique insights.
