High Interest Savings Account ETF (HISA)
Q: Several weeks ago one of your members said they were seeking the safety and yield of CASH:CA and another name I can't remember or find again. This to ride out the market turmoil. I remember both names as being stable and having a decent dividend. Can you suggest the forgotten name or other names that are similiar and offer similiar features?
5i Research Answer:
CASH is a high-interest savings ETF which invests in high interest savings accounts at large Canadian banks. It has a distribution yield of 2.5%, a strong AUM, and an MER of 0.10%. There are several other high-interest ETFs, including PSA, CSAV, HISA, HSAV (does not issue distributions but reinvests them back into the NAV). All have similar yield and MER metrics, but largely we like CASH for its low MER and high AUM, and HSAV for its tax efficiency.
