Q: Hi Team,
What's your current thoughts on the current Meg takeover offer? Do you still feel a higher offer will come to play? What's the usual timeline on takeover offers such as this as to when another company might swoop in for a higher bid? The offer from Strathcona is open until Sept I believe, but I would have to think if a competing offer is coming it would probably be much sooner than that would it not?
Thanks,
Shane.

We would still give decent odds of another party showing up (35%+, which is high for such situations). But a third party may wait, to ensure that the current bid is seen as faltering. We would not necessary expect something quickly, and a party could even wait for the last minute as well. There is lots of uncertainty in the market, so some bidders may not get involved, even if they wanted to. We still see it as opportunistic. The easiest solution is for SCR to pay a bit more and make this a friendly transaction.
