Q: Good morning,
Q1. What are your thoughts on Strathacona Resources recent offer to purchase MEG?
Q2. Do you consider Strathacona's initial offer reasonable and what is the likelihood of MEG accepting Strathacona's initial offer?
Q3. What is the likelihood of another company joining the bid for MEG?
Q4. For holders of MEG, do you recommend selling on the news now and taking profits or waiting for a potentially better offer as MEG considers the current offer that may not be accepted and cause the MEG's stock price to drop back?
Thank you and I'll await your response.

5i Research Answer:
The bid is opportunistic and low, but we cannot blame SCR for trying. It would be a good combination overall. We think the likelihood of MEG accepting the offer as it stands right now is essentially zero. This is why SCR is going directly to shareholders. But we do not think the deal goes through unless renumeration is increased. We think the odds of a third party coming in a quite high, more than 50%. This deal willl play out over at least a few months. We would be very comfortable HOLDing MEG shares for a while.
