5i Research Answer:
Since 2000, CP has returned 1,812%; CNR 1,961%. CNR is cheaper and has a higher dividend. CP has a more leverage balance sheet right now as it took on a lot of debt with its Kansas City acquisition. Both have been long-term compounders but we would prefer CNR today.
